Went for lunch food was good service freindy was very surprised! Would go again. I had grilled cheese and butternut soup. My son had a beef dip with beef barliy, and it was good 👍 was a good lunch! big menu 😋

Amazing End to End Customer Service from Emily. She went above and beyond her call of duty, to make sure I had the best possible experience. Very reasonably priced meals and daily specials available. Very elaborate menu with a lot of choice.

I’ve visited countless restaurants over the years, and while Ajax may not be a bustling metropolis, it holds a hidden gem: Westney Diner. This cozy neighborhood spot offers delicious food, fantastic prices, and unbeatable service. It’s a place where everyone feels at home, thanks in large part to the incredible Miriam—our silver fox and the heart of the diner. I’ve seen many restaurant pros in action, but when Westney Diner gets busy, no one can “make and shake” like Miriam. Her energy, skill, and warmth set her apart. She may have a few more years under her belt, but that only adds to her charm and expertise. Miriam, thank you for being the best at what you do. My daughter and I visited this restaurant on Tuesday, October 29th, around 6:00 pm. It was a busy evening, and the server, an older woman, was assisting arriving guests while also handling payments. To clarify, this review is not about the food—the food was excellent. However, the customer service we received from this particular server was extremely disappointing. Upon entering, we waited patiently to be acknowledged, but the server ignored us while immediately attending to customers who had just arrived. My daughter eventually approached her to request a menu for takeout. After about five minutes, we were ready to place our order and waited patiently once again. Although I understood the restaurant was busy, what happened next seemed discriminatory. The server was about to take my daughter’s order when another customer entered. She immediately turned away from us and approached the new customer instead. Even when the customer insisted we should be served first, the server ignored them and continued taking their order. Only after this exchange did she return to us to take our order. We ordered the daily special, which was advertised as “any pasta for $15.99” and included garlic bread and a salad. After placing our order, I thanked the other customer for their courtesy, and we waited for about 25 minutes. When our order was ready, the server charged us full price for the pasta instead of the advertised special price. I questioned the charge, and she replied that I should have specifically requested the "special." I pointed out that the sign indicated “any pasta” for the special price. Meanwhile, I noticed that she had seated a family of three, took their order, and provided them with the special—including the salad—without them mentioning it explicitly. I overheard this as I was standing nearby. The server eventually corrected our charge but omitted the salad that was supposed to accompany the special. This wasn’t our first visit to the restaurant, and we’ve always had positive experiences with other staff members. However, this particular server’s behavior was concerning. It was disheartening to see her prioritize other customers while seemingly disregarding us.

Stopped by here with my mom and my wife for a mid afternoon lunch/dinner and the food was delicious! I had a 1pc Halibut and chips, my mom had the hot chicken sandwich with vegetables which she thought was very good, especially the vegetables! Last but not least, my wife had the Mediterranean wrap and soup which was also very nice. I work in Ajax and I decided to take my mom and wife here after a day trip to the Toronto Zoo. It was a great way to end the day! Will definitely be back!

Sat on the patio, which was quite nice, esp in an industrial area- 2 large screen tv's and plenty of shade. Our server was awesome, friendly and fast. Had a beef dip and a salad and both were excellent. Definitely recommend - don't let the looks fool you.

We dropped in here for lunch around 1pm. The server told us to take a seat. The restaurant is divided in 3 sections- patio, bar with booths and dining area. We sat in a booth. We ordered the California club sandwich for $13.99 and the buffalo bites with fries $13.99. The prices are reasonable. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. The food was ok. The music was a little country rock and a little loud. This place started to get busy as the time went on. I guess they have alot of regulars.

A nice relaxing bicycle ride along the Ajax waterfront ended with some Wings and Beer at Westney's Restaurant and Bar. The Dry Cajun Wings were very crispy but I would have liked a little more flavour (seasoning). It was, however, a pretty good deal at half price, every Monday. This was my first visit to this establishment. The service was good and they have some pretty good daily specials. I'll have to come back to explore their offerings. This was another trial of the camera in the Google Pixel 6 Pro, shot as JPEG. The images are nice and crisp, as were the wings!
