Came here with my friend today at a good hour. The food here is very delicious as I had the chicken katsu dinner with deep fried calamari on the side and my friend had the pork katsu dinner. Our server Emily was very kind and patient, as she made sure to consider our table’s allergies and took our orders in an efficient and friendly manner. Will love to come again :)

Makimono in Ajax is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants in the area! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was absolutely top-notch. Vivian and Amy truly went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional—they were so friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food? Incredible. The sushi rolls are HUGE and packed with flavor, and the menu has such an extensive variety that there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re a sushi lover or prefer hot dishes, you’ll be spoiled for choice. This is also a fantastic spot for hosting parties! The ambiance and spacious seating make it perfect for gatherings with family and friends. On top of that, they’re running a great promotion for Christmas with their gift cards—such a perfect gift idea for sushi lovers! Makimono is easily one of my favorite places to dine, and I can’t recommend it enough. Amazing food, stellar service (thank you, Vivian and Amy!), and an all-around great experience.

Lovely atmosphere with excellent staff. Everyone was very friendly and the food was great too. The appetizers were my personal favorite, especially the tempuras. We had the all ypu can eat and would recommend it highly

Makimono Sushi has become one of my favorite places for sushi, and for good reason. Every visit feels like a treat, from the cozy ambiance to the warm and attentive staff who always make you feel welcome. The sushi here is fresh and full of flavor. I always find myself going back to the Dragon Roll—the combination of eel and avocado is perfection—or the Spicy Salmon Roll that has just the right amount of kick. Their presentation is beautiful too; it’s clear they take pride in every dish. What I love most is the all-you-can-eat option. It’s not just about quantity—they offer a wide variety of appetizers, rolls, and even desserts, all made fresh and served quickly. It’s perfect for when you want to try a bit of everything without breaking the bank. If sushi isn’t your thing, their teriyaki and tempura options are just as delicious. But honestly, it’s hard not to fall in love with their sushi once you try it. Whether it’s a casual dinner with friends or just indulging yourself, Makimono Sushi never disappoints.

We had a lovely time at Makimono Ajax! They have a great AYCE menu with a wide variety of sushi and other Asian dishes! You order through their iPads and your food is delivered to your table through their robots. Everything we got was fresh and delicious. Service was also really efficient!

One of the best sushi restaurants I've tried in Canada! The salmon sashimi was super fresh and the shrimp tempura was crispy too. Don't forget to try the self-serve ice cream bar (the red bean one especially)!

Undoubtedly my favourite local Japanese e to chill, relax and eat (especially All-You-Can-Eat). Just making a very recent review from today’s experience. The place is not only near to my area, out of all the Makimono’s I went to, the Ajax one is undoubtedly the best one! Great customer service, amazing variety of delicious food, price is ok at best (but cheaper in lunch special) and overall very welcoming. The robots that serve you sushi is just adorable to watch, especially that sometimes the way they serve to their fellow customers. Almost go there everytime for sushi, and not a single opinion has changed over the years. I personally recommend the locals to try this place. Even those passing by Ajax or Durham Region for the matter, great place to stop by and either take a quick bite or have all your time eating various kinds of dishes. Tip: There’s a new recent ice cream bar, in which you can pick any flavour you like with any additional toppings and all. Even the All-You-Can-Eat tablet will automatically state it by showing a text once you press the plus button.

Our server Jessie is great and friendly. The food was delicious and the raw fish was super fresh. Food came out out quickly. The mango pudding is a must eat dessert.
