ADDA Bengali Kitchen & Catering is a new restaurant in Ajax opened more than 6 months ago.
Amader ADDA delivers authentic Bangladeshi cuisine with unparalleled services and consistent quality with a contemporary twist. To Amader ADDA means “Our hang out place” - an essential part of Bengali culture that ties generations together through intimate conversation with friends and family. And wherever there is ADDA, there is food. If one thing is for sure, it’s that Bengali’s are foodies. Growing up, our most cherished memories are woven with loud, excited voices chattering over each other while the smell of fried snacks and chai lingers in the air. Food is the heart of Bengali culture, and at ADDA we want to highlight our community and raise the bar for foodies in Toronto.

I’ve visited Adda’s Scarborough location several times and always had great food and a fantastic time 🎉. So, when I heard they opened a new location in Ajax, closer to my home, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. We visited around 6 PM with the family, and the place was empty, understandably so, because Bengalis aren’t exactly known for dining before 8 PM 😆. The server was professional and helpful, recommending several appetizers: Moglai Paratha, Fuchka, Haleem, and Chicken Wings (the latter for my kid). For the main course, we ordered the "Biye Bari Chicken Roast" and "Khashir Mangsho Rezala" meals. Food portions for both the appetizers and main dishes were generous 👍. All three recommended appetizers were good, nothing extraordinary, but definitely enjoyable. As for the mains, the chicken roast leaned on the sweeter side and seemed to lack some key flavors I was expecting. The rezala was okay, but not a standout. However, the Polau Rice was memorably delicious, perfectly cooked and flavorful 🍚! One noteworthy detail: the food was served warm, not piping hot, which I personally appreciated, though I wonder if it was intentional 🤔. The atmosphere was pleasant, a mix of Bangladeshi-inspired and modern decor 🖼️. It felt like some of the design elements might have been carried over from the previous restaurant at this location, though I can’t be sure. The pricing was on the higher side, about $115 for two adults and one child, but not surprising given the 2024–25 inflationary era 💵. Overall, it’s exciting to have an authentic 🇧🇩 Bangladeshi restaurant in the east end of the GTA. I’ll be returning to explore more dishes on the menu soon! ✌️

No questions about the service and atmosphere, but the food quality was lacking. Has the chef changed? We had food from both their Danforth and Ajax locations. Food quality in both outlet is not up to the mark these days. From this outlet today we ordered, - Mutton Kacchi Biryani : 2/10 - Beef Tehari : 3/10 - Aloo Chop : 10/10 - Chotpoti : 7/10 - Dal Puri : 8/10 - Chicken Roast & Roti : 6/10

This ADDA location is just as good, if not better, than its sister location down in Little Bangla Town. The food and quality of service is consistent between the two restaurants. The Ajax locations boasts a larger space, ample parking, and quick driving distance from the highway. The food is amazing as usual. The breakfast tali is all you need to feel full until dinner. Cha is great, sweetened perfectly with condensed milk. Overall, highly recommend. ADDA makes Bangla food much more accessible to the regular folks.

ADDA I think is the go to place for people who would some Bangladeshi food and great service. The stuff are always courteous along with Mr Rashid. I had bad experiences with the Bharta platter that it was bad and smelly, specially in summer time, that’s understandable since they use raw onions. However every time they addressed the issue nicely and made fresh again. It’s a little inconvenient, I’d appreciate if the kitchen would be a little more careful. Our bhortas were good this time. Enjoyed thoroughly.

First time at this new location. We just had a few appetizers. The fuchka was my favourite- so delicious! We also had the tuna kabobs but they were overly hot and spicy. Overall we enjoyed what we had and we'll most likely be back soon :)

We went to the Ajax branch of Adda. We ordered kacchi biriyani and moghlai poratha. Quantity of kacchi was good but the meat was cold, not warm enough. Moghlai was overcooked. This restaurant is bigger than Danforth branch. Bathroom was clean but no tissue was there after washing hand. Also the AC wasnt working so it was quite hot the day we visited.

It's often said, "Good things come to those who wait." and believe me when I say that lots of people have been waiting very patiently for a good bangladeshi restaurant in the Durham region. Before I write the rest of my review, I need to give you (the reader) a heads up. Bangladeshi food is very delicious but also very spicy, unless you've been baptized by fire or have experience eating spicy food I strongly advice you to order with a side of yoghurt or couple of mango lassis (drink)! Ok, so where to begin, appetizers, on top of the usual samosas and things Adda has "Bhortas", these are various types of mashes served as a platter, there are veg and non-veg bhortas to try! I like all of them, especially the fish bhorta! For the main entrees, I recommend first time eaters to get the "Wilima Roast", it's a slow cooked chicken stewed in a rich creamy cashew curry along with some pulao rice. It is NOT spicy and so so delicious. For those of you who know what's up, it's all your established bangladeshi entrees there is Goro mangsho, Kala bhuna and more! Great for families, service was good, looking forward to coming back again!

The first Bangladeshi restaurant in Durham region. The ambience is so much better, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The menu is the same as the Scarborough location. Food was good, and the service was superb. I’m so happy that Adda decided to open its second location in Ajax.
