Ask anyone in town, we have some of the best wings (half price on Wednesday!) and our daily specials are always unique & delicious, and if you’re craving hotter than hot, hot sauce come try out specialty homemade sauce, that is sure to make you cry! Extensive menu including traditional pub favourites. Excellent service. We ate here before a play at the New Roads Performing Arts Centre, and it was a perfect choice.

Only reason this is not a 1-star is because the Server was amazing. Food was lackluster. One of our meals had a piece of plastic in it (at least they comp'd it), but it was obvious that EVERYTHING came out of a package. Their so-called "suicide" wing sauce may have been the only thing that was made in-house, but it was "3-alarm" at best - good effort though. The poor quality of the food we received for the price means we likely will never return - this restaurant was a huge disapointment.

The service was amazing! Rebecca is courteous and attentive. The food on the other hand was not acceptable. Kitchen staff can't even be bothered to toss a Caesar salad even though it was requested. Never been anywhere that doesn't do this and especially when it's requested by a guest. What made it worse was finding the cook asleep on a stool in full sight of the guests.

Our waitress was the best ever. Didn't catch her name, but she was excellent. We were there on Friday afternoon, food was priced fair, everyone was more than happy with their food, EVERY BODY LEFT FULL AND HAPPY .

Oct 2023. I think this is under new management. Tried to order fries and curry. Ownership said okay but it’s going to be based on whatever the curry dish is they have on the menu and that will be $17. I said that’s insulting so ordered poutine instead. Frozen fries and they mixed some shredded cheddar in there with the cheese curds. Server was nice but won’t be coming back here.

This is becoming one of my favorite places to go. The food is great! Just came for dinner and had a wonderful sandwich. It was hard to decide to have wings (it was wing night) or the sandwich. I'm glad I chose the sandwich. I've eaten here many times and every meal has been great. If you like onion rings, you have to try them here! The service is amazing. I have had many different servers. Last night and tonight, it was Rebecca, and she is amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is very down to earth. If you are looking for a great local bar, you have to give The Lion Pub a definite try!

Found this place while looking for pubs with live music in Newmarket. We were greeted by friendly staff and were seated promptly. The service was good and the food we ordered was fairly tasty as well. Big portions and well priced! Great place for new artists to showcase their talents. However, it got super loud when the third band started playing. Will definitely go back again but will find seats further away from where the bands set up.
