Saraye Khayyam Restaurant

We ordered koobideh and tahchin, which were slightly more expensive than other restaurants but definitely more delicious. However, what was surprising was that the total cost of our meals was less than $42, but because there was a $10 entrance fee per person, and since our group had more than 6 people (qualifying as a group), we ended up paying $74—before tax, almost double the cost of the food we ordered. In my opinion, this wasn’t very reasonable. And an interesting point is that they added a 30% surcharge for groups of more than six people, which came to an additional $12. The staff’s behavior was excellent. Overall, I think with this amount, I could have dined at a more luxurious restaurant, and I don’t think I’ll be inclined to visit this place again.

I have been here twice and tried 3 different meals they were all AMAZING! The food has that homemade authentic taste. The staff are very attentive and nice, and the atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The food portions are big and the prices are reasonable. It's definitely a new favorite of mine and will go back.

It was the worst Koobideh I’ve ever had in the GTA. I ordered it as takeout, and when my daughter opened the package, it had a strange smell. The Koobideh tasted like it was full of breadcrumbs, heavily seasoned with saffron and black pepper to mask the poor quality of the meat. The rice lacked salt and was overly oily. I wouldn’t recommend trying this restaurant—it’s a waste of money and time.

Khayyam is an underrated gem, and anyone who gives this place poor reviews are bitter they can’t top the chef!!! Sorry not sorry !!! The woman who runs the place is beyond kind and hospitable to her guests, and never settles to make mine or my friends’ day when we dine w/her. If you wanna feel like you’re in Iran without making a trip, this place is the spot!!! sending blessings to the Khayyam team💝

Tried this place for the first time. It was very spacious inside and the food was amazing. Service was a bit slow but everyone was courteous and polite. The 4 dishes we tried were all great and definitely recommend you try them if you go here. Not sure if the AC was off but it was a bit warm but they did open up the front door. So if you’re in the area you can give this place a try.

We ordered takeout today (barg and khoobideh). The meat was fresh and delicious and the portion was really satisfying. This is one of the best khoobidehs I've ever had. I'll definitely come back!

Yesterday we dined at Khayam Restaurant in Newmarket and was impressed. The spacious interior and charming wood signs create a welcoming ambiance, free from overpowering food smells. The waitstaff were clean and friendly, enhancing the experience. The food was delicious, offering a great variety of Persian dishes at reasonable prices. Don't miss their desserts like falodeh and baklava, along with a wide selection of drinks, including Turkish coffee and alcoholic options. Highly recommended for anyone in the area!

I heard about this place from a couple of people. We went to try and were pleasantly happy with the quality and portions. We had baghali polo, kashk e bademjoon, maast mosir, zeitoon parvardeh and fries and we loved all of them And service is extraordinary. She is very attentive and caring!
