QJD Peking Duck 全聚德（Mississauga）

I was ecstatic to hear QJD was opening a Mississauga location, and of course I had to go check it out. My family and I went on their grand opening day back in September, it was very busy so best to make a reservation prior. Our server was welcoming and friendly. He walked us through the menu, and recommended us a few dishes. Interior is stunning with its vibrant design and decor. They even come out and cut the peking duck, and plate it right in front of us. It is a bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the experience. We got their half-set roasted duck which is served with steamed pancakes, dipping sauces, cucumber and leek strips. We also ordered their dry-braised eel with fermented soya bean and pepper, and the Yangzhou fried rice. Presentation wise, everything looks beautiful. The roasted duck was very juicy and tender. The dry-braised eels were fresh and flavourful. I did find the fried rice to be a bit on the blander side.

The overall taste was okay. The black truffle shrimp dumplings were my favorite and definitely worth recommending. The matcha custard buns were unique but not much filling inside. The rests were just about average. Their beef tendon is curry flavoured, not my favorite. We ordered a stir-fried mushroom dish at 11am, but after waiting for half an hour, it still hadn’t arrived. In the end, we canceled the order, paid the bill, and got ready to leave. Just as we were about to head out with our coats on, they finally brought the dish to the table. Since we had already paid, we told them to take it back. Although their decorations are brand new, it’s a quite busy place so there’s not much of a difference compared with other dim sum places.

We came here on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t overly busy (not sure about weekend service) but there were still a good amount of filled tables. The servers were all very attentive and probably one of the best customer service experiences I’ve experienced at a Chinese restaurant in the GTA. The price tag is steep but you get what you pay for. The food was all delicious and I like that they had them cut and serve the duck by your table, which I feel like fewer places have been committing to. The fried rice wasn’t overly oily and tasted amazing with the eggplant dish. We paid $18 extra for them to fry the rest of the duck but you can take the bones and meat home for free (great for soup). I like that they explicitly explain this. They also gave us separate plates with the unique cuts including the head and tail - no waste here. Would come back and maybe try some of the other dishes apart from the duck.

The best Chinese restaurant in Mississauga! The selection of cold appetizers was excellent, especially the Duck Web in Mustard Sauce. The presentation was beautiful, and the texture was crisp and tender—absolutely delicious. The Winter Bamboo Shoots with Braised Duck Breast, Crispy Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauce, and Deep-Fried Meatballs were all flavorful as well. One dish that deserves special mention is the Fire-Touched Duck Hearts. Marinated in Moutai liquor and cooked for only about eight seconds, the duck hearts retained a subtle hint of the liquor’s aroma—a true masterpiece of culinary skill. Today’s roast duck was Prosperous Peony Set. The chef’s knife skills were outstanding, with the thinly sliced duck skin coming out exceptionally crispy. It was particularly delightful when dipped in sugar. The pancakes for wrapping the roast duck were thin yet chewy, making this the best roast duck set I’ve ever had in Canada. Among the other dishes, my favorite was the Cuttlefish Roe Soup, which was fresh, flavorful, and free of any fishy taste, with a smooth and creamy texture.

Came here for a birthday dinner. We had excellent service from our waitress. Ordered their famous Peking duck - crispy skin and tender meat. We also got some other dishes and overall they were very good. The ribs and duck fried rice were very delicious. We brought our own cake and our waitress cake cut and served us. Overall a great place to eat and/or celebrate.

We hosted my father's birthday dinner here and were delighted with how elegant and lovely the event turned out. The staff were very accommodating for our large party (over 40). We chose a set menu that included the signature Peking duck dish as well as other Northern Chinese delicacies like poached eel, sea cucumber and lobster. The food was delicious and the presentation was spectacular. Our party coordinator, Eric, was superb and ensured that everything flowed smoothly and that the timing of dishes was exactly as we wished. The staff also cut and served a birthday cake we had brought, in addition to the exquisite desserts included with the set menu. My dad was so happy and we felt like everything went perfectly. Many thanks to the staff, managers and chef at the QJD Peking Duck restaurant. Heartily recommended; we hope to come back soon!

@@@ Dec 25th Christmas Day 2024 Dim Sum with Beijing Duck @@@ Merry Christmas 🎄 everyone. I am back for another Dim Sum experience. My party ordered a whole duck. The chef brings it out to your table and prepares it. The experience is similar to ordering a Caesar Salad at a high end steak house. The duck was expertly prepared. The skin was so crispy and the duck was so flavourful. The chef cuts some “sample” pieces to make sure that you like it. If not, then he will bring out another one for you. The duck experience is very enjoyable and tasty. I would definitely order it again. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% My party of 6 family members descended on this restaurant to try their Dim Sum 🥟. I did not read any reviews of this restaurant prior, so I went in with no expectations. The service was excellent from the front of the restaurant staff to the servers and the managers. I really was impressed with their attentive service. They get 5 stars ✨ in my book. The Dim Sum was very tasty and fresh. I was impressed. They all came out piping hot. They have some unique dishes. So remember to ask the wonderful staff to recommend their specialty dishes. The location is tastefully decorated and clean 🧽. The restaurant has private party rooms if you are so inclined. Otherwise pack your patience because there may be a wait for a table at times. I will definitely 💯 return later on to try their consistency for their Dim Sum. And I would like to try their dinner menu at a later date and I will report back. Happy eats everyone 😎

I have had many amazing dining experiences both for dim sum at lunch and for formal dinners. The service is absolutely impeccable and Captain Jackie is always on point making sure all of the staff and food is perfect every time. The restaurant decor is impressive and elegant. The private rooms along the side are all lavishly appointed. It is always a pleasure to come and dine here at QJD.
