Pepe and Lela's Eatery

I recently visited this amazing Mexican restaurant and had a fantastic experience! I ordered the fundido with mushrooms as an appetizer, and it was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with the steak tacos, which were just as great. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great authentic Mexican food and a welcoming atmosphere!

This was my first visit to Pepe & Lela’s, and it did not disappoint! I wasn’t planning on drinking, but how could I resist a blood orange margarita? It was perfection! We started with the chips and guac and shared the arugula, mango, and jicama salad—so fresh and absolutely delicious. For the mains, the crispy fish tacos and the 12-hour slow-roasted Ontario lamb tacos were over-the-top amazing. Each bite was a burst of flavor—so good! Sadly, we had no room left for dessert, but the meal was flawless from start to finish. Our waiter was fantastic (I wish I could remember his name). Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for bold, authentic flavours and a great casual vibe!

This is by far the best restaurant in the area. At first glance of the menu, it seemed quite pricey and not a lot of options but we were quickly proven wrong. Every item was amazing, the tacos are quite large so two per order is plenty, the drinks are amazing, try to save room for dessert! The lime and coconut pie is perhaps one of the best pies I’ve ever had. And of course the service was great, Amanda was a gem, so thoughtful and helpful with every ask and followed through all of my dad’s silly jokes, she made our visit a lot better than we had hoped for!

This restaurant is the gem of Burlington. The menu is not large, but every item is carefully chosen. The service is amazing and the owner made sure to stop by our table. He explained many items in mouthwatering detail. The ambiance is wonderful whether for a family get together or a romantic dinner out. And do yourself a favor and order the coconut lime cake….. a truly memorable desert! Oh and the margaritas are a solid 10/10.

Dined in on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary! Enjoyed the strong spicy margaritas, well seasoned sweet potato fries, delicious tacos and TRES LECHES!!! Yumm! Highly recommend the pull chicken taco. Fish tacos were underwhelming. Amanda was lovely and helped make our evening special!

Went to this restaurant on a whim with my wife and our son and was thoroughly impressed on all levels! This is an intimate hole-in-the-wall restaurant I would recommend for couples on a date, a hungry family and anyone looking for authentic Mexican food!

Tbh, I wasn't really expecting much and thought that perhaps all the positive reviews were just hype, but the wifey and I left absolutely stuffed and satisfied. The food AND service were amazing! We ordered the two specials (shrimp ceviche and short rib) along with the chicken mole taco and tres leches cake for dessert. My wife LOVED the chicken mole - so flavourful and moist without disintegrating the tortilla. I fell in love with the short rib dish and wished they had it on the menu permanently. The pureed corn was SOOOOOO freaking good and the short rib was so tender and literally off the bone. As everyone says, the tres leches was a must order and I concur. We will be back! A spectacular meal and one of my favourite spots for 2024. A huge score of 9.1. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
