Merk Snack Bar

Man, I really wanted to like this place. Right from the get go, we made a reservation with staff that wasn’t prepared for when we arrived. So when we had to wait for 15+ minutes for the staff to set up tables and chairs, things happen. Our server brought out waters and took our drink orders about 10 minutes after. Cocktails were great. Ordered our food and about half an hour later, our food arrived. The food was tasty sounding reading it on the menu, but seriously underwhelming in both portion size and quality for the price when it came out. I get it, it’s tapas. But $10 for two limp, room temperature jerk chicken taquitos isn’t awesome. Our server also forgot three of the items we ordered, and then was very clearly not happy we wanted to pay seperately despite not even asking us how we wanted to pay. Overall, a “meh” experience. Sad to report, had driven past multiple times and had really high hopes.

Great cocktails, cool atmosphere although I feel the lights could be dimmer in the evenings. When I walked in, they had Recess playing on the TVs, which immediately transported me to Sunday mornings as a kid watching cartoons - so that was cool. The service was a tad slow in my opinion as we were the only people in the bar, aside from a single person at the bar. Overall 4/5

I genuinely really loved this place. Really unique, unlike any other place I've been to. It really feels like they set up an atmosphere for connecting and conversing, while happening to be served great food, and great drinks. I'm really impressed and I will definitely be going back. Perfect place for night owls to get a delicious midnight snack!

Hit up Merk with my bestfriend yesterday as it is our favourite spot after a good day of thrifting. We were very excited for the highly anticipated new menu my friend has been telling me about. We were the first ones there and it felt extra special to be some of the first guests to try the new eats and drink menus. Chef killed it!!! We were so over the moon about the flavour combinations and our server/bartender had the best recommendations to navigate the new choices. The pork belly Boa Buns are at THE TOP of my favourites list!! We also got a couple of mocktails, which that specific server made signature and is on the menu, The Paperless Plane. Just, wow. 🤯 All of this followed by a decadent devils food cake jar with score bits and light whipped cream kept a whole smile on my face the rest of the day. The vibes, the people and the food here are always above 5 star. We can’t wait to visit with more friends again. Go try the new menu immediately!!

It was my first time going to merk went on a Sunday night, and they had entertainment . Ordered the fish taco. Finally, something on it besides coleslaw and it was so good will be back for another. The staff was really friendly and made my friend and I feel very welcome .

Wanted to try somewhere new and totally enjoyed. Service was great. Cocktails were great. We sampled as much of the menu as we could. Until next time. Loved the garlic cheese bread, jerk chicken taquitos and the perogies. Enjoy!

Such a great vibe. The patio is incredible. The drinks were wonderful. The service was also lovely. They invented a mock tail for my daughter! The food was good, especially the tater tot poutine.

Incredible food, best service, great prices. Support local! Their Meal Prep service includes 5 ready to eat/heat meals for $60/week, pickup every Monday.
