Maria's Fifty's Diner

I am a sucker for older diners, and this one has that vintage charm to it. It's spacious, but sadly, it works somewhat against them because of how lean they are staffed. We got eggs, steak omlette, and banana pancakes with coffee, and it came up to 52 CAD. The flavor was just ok - the rye bread was hard and dry, and the potatoes were nice and crispy. The pancakes were strangely flakey and came with a container of table syrup - i think part of eating pancakes at a diner is the act of overdosing on table syrup and I felt like I missed out on that opportunity lol I would return to this joint to try out some of their lunch menu for some redemption.

I wanted to go and I asked my friend to take me there,because I had a good experience in Kitchener at the same restaurant, but it was totally different this time, the fries were frozen, the burger shrank, the bread couldn't hold the inside of the burger, little milkshake and it tasted like goat milk. The place looked different, the chairs and the rest of the decorations doesn't match with the fitties, it's now like kinda Chinese environment and the worst there are not washroom there, I asked the waitress he brought me those premoist towels which all were dry out . Just a bad experience, i feel disappointed.! We won't come back, the place was totally empty, now we know why, because nobody cares to dine there. 😞 Too expensive for the quality!!

Excellent food in 50’s style atmosphere. I had the Taco skillet off the breakfast menu and it was absolutely delicious. We will be returning soon.

Came here this morning for breakfast while waiting for an oil change for my car. Service was good and quick. Couldn't finish my food, but it was good overall. Massive fluffy pancakes were great. Wish I skipped the toast and went straight for the pancakes. . Eggs could have been better, but they were good still

Best place in Hamilton for home comfort food, massive portions (we get take home boxes every time theres so much left after) great staff, and really yummy well made food. My fav part is surprisingly after lunch the diner gets pretty empty for supper and me and my boyfriend get lucky to have the whole place to ourselves! :)

The staff are friendly enough and the place is clean. However the kitchen couldn’t cook an egg properly if their life depended on it . Eggs come out with brown and crispy edges from being cooked at maximum heat on the flat top . Omelettes are completely flat crunchy and dark brown. Apparently no one told them that eggs Benedict is served with a poached egg . Theirs comes out with a nasty fried one and it pretty much ruins the experience

Nice local restaurant for brunch. Bring your hunger because the portion size did not disappoint. We found this place online and glad we did. Service was friendly and quick. Food was hot and delicious. Just hoping the decor had more fifties theme which is what we thought it was in the name.
