I ordered one halibut fish with French fries set on the way I drove to Oshawa, and this restaurant really surprised me! If you're after the best fish and chips experience, look no further than Malt n’ Salt. Nestled in the heart of Pickering, this gem of a restaurant serves up fish and chips that are truly unparalleled. The halibut fish at Malt n’ Salt is simply delicious, although I believe it is not the only standout of the menu. The fish is perfectly cooked, Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant perfectly complements the halibut, making each bite a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. Paired with the French fries, which are golden, crunchy, and satisfying. A must-try for any fish & chip lover who craving a classic, hearty fish and chips meal, that's done just right. Highly recommended!

A must try for any fish and chips lover. Their is a tasty variety of fish and it's prepared and fried very well. It was delicious and I would definitely recommend it to others. One of those nice local gems you are happy you went too. I've yet to try the one on Lawson myself yet.

I’ve searching for the perfect fishing chips all over GTA. And I think this is it. The haddock and fries had had right amount of crisps and light in colour. It’s a result of fresh oil and just right amount of heat and cooking duration. All the food are served in paper boxes and wrapped in paper which is great for sustainability and after meal disposal. The gentle writing and the warm simple note gave the impression over the top upon the perfect execution of a simple classic dish.

Wonderful Service and great taste! We ordered a family pack thinking we would need 2 pieces of fish for each person but the portions are huge! Knowing this, the staff came over and showed us the size of their serving size and even asked if we would want a refund for the extra orders before they cooked it. The batter was crispy and light with lots of fish. Would highly recommend this hole in the wall! Definitely worth the price and everything tastes better served with kindness.

Huge portion sizes and insanely cheap prices. The fries were the best part, a good mix of potato flavor and crispy texture. I pair the fries with their nice beef gravy. Convenient location right off the highway, and the lady behind the counter was lovely, very friendly and helpful.
