If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Island Mix Pickering restaurant is a must-visit! The food is absolutely top-notch—every bite bursts with flavour and authenticity. The wings, in particular, are phenomenal—crispy, perfectly seasoned, and hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. (I should have taken “before” pictures but I just digged in —I was hungry lol). The menu offers such a delightful variety that it’s hard to choose just one favourite. ***What really made the experience stand out was the exceptional service. Our host, Trejahra, was incredible—attentive, warm, and genuinely made us feel at home. Her knowledge of the menu and her radiant personality added a personal touch that elevated the evening. If you’re craving amazing food with a welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot to be. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Great service, great atmosphere, and most importantly, delicious food. What more can one ask for? The lemon pepper wings and sizzling beef are a must.

Taste: decent. Typical West Indian Chinese food. Little heavy on the soya and onion. Flavor profile also a little one note. Prices: higher than competitors. Prices probably reflect better atmosphere (which is not important for take-out). Their business would likely grow if they offered a discount for cash/take-out orders. Service: very slow. Seems understaffed.

My husband called me and asked me if I wanted dinner tonight and he told me he was at Island Mix. I agreed and told him I wanted the Jerk Chicken with extra gravy and it is never an issue to pay extra for gravy because that’s how I prefer my food - saucy. I heard my husband tell the server our order and my husband reiterated that we wanted extra gravy to which the server replied that an extra charge would be applied and he agreed. He waited patiently for our food and when he got it, he asked AGAIN, if they put the extra gravy and the server said YES. He gets home and my meal is DRY. It’s one thing to serve chicken breast in a Jerk Chicken meal but another to not have the meat at least be moist or juicy if you’re not going to add the extra gravy that the customer paid for. My chicken was hard and dry. Really disappointing considering the extra charge was applied and over $100 in food was ordered. I used to frequent the location in Vaughan and they never missed the mark but this meal today was not it. Crazy to me that they fill up put bag with all this extra hot sauce but won’t include extra gravy that you paid for….Will try to salvage the chicken by making Rasta pasta with it tomorrow.

The service was excellent. Our waitress had an amazing memory! The food was really good. We got the Mango Salsa with Wonton Chips....oh my goodness...it was amazing!! The Chicken Wontons and dip was delicious. The Chicken Wonton Soup was excellent. The corn soup, shrimp... everything was just truly delicious. Tables were all in an open area. Washrooms were on the hot side....weird....it felt like walking into a sauna.

Update: As always the food and ambience of this place is always on point. This time, the service was perfect, and the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu, Mohammed suggested the Apple Sour Martini, which was a nice twist on a classic, and I really enjoyed it. He was an amazing server! Despite it being a long weekend, we were accommodated with proper seating this time around, and we had no waiting issues or rude staff. ------- The food and atmosphere here is always a vibe and never misses, however we had made reservations but the staff did not honor it even though it was made 2 weeks in advance, we had to wait to have a table prepared, don't bother reserving just come in and try your luck. We also tried to order take-out the following day only to have the entire dinner order cancelled seconds after it was made. First time ever had an issue here, ultra bizzare.
