We visited this restaurant yesterday for New Year’s Eve dinner, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were greeted and handed a very limited menu compared to their regular offerings. What made matters worse was that we weren’t informed beforehand about this restriction. To our surprise, we noticed other diners ordering crabs, lobsters, and whole fish—none of which were listed on the menu we received. When we asked about it, the waiter pointed to a whiteboard across the room with these items written in Chinese. When I mentioned that not being able to read or speak Chinese essentially excluded us from ordering those dishes, the waiter simply smiled and confirmed, “Yes.” I never imagined I’d encounter such an exclusionary experience in Canada, let alone in the heart of one of its most culturally diverse cities. While the food we ordered from the limited menu was good, the lack of inclusivity and communication left a sour taste. Sadly, this was our first and last visit.

COCKROACH!! for breakfast? Although the food was decent, we took the left overs home and I warmed up the bun today to find a steamed cockroach attached when I peeled away the paper. Disgusting 🫣

I think this is one of the best DIM-SUM restaurant in Toronto. I just went to Las Vegas for Dim-sum and come back from Hong Kong. This dim-sum restaurant is amazing! it’s even better than Hong Kong today . SHUMAI is jumbo size and make with real fresh shrimp.Malaysian sponge cake is outstanding👍(make with brown sugar), steamed fish meatball is handmade fresh when you order. I hope people know about DIM-SUM Meaning breakfast for Chinese,so Please don’t expect service like a fine dining restaurant(most people complaint about it). So,please give a Mercy for the server. They are not racist, just they’re TOO busy with short-handed !This is super authentic Chinese restaurant. I’ll give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Check my review .I travel around the world for food.🍱

Very busy place. Food is great. We had dim sum here. However they don’t really follow the reservation system. We called a day before and made a reservation but when we arrived all tables are served. We waited 20min to get a table. .

Seems like the overall quality of this place improved since ownership changed over from Sam Woo's. There have been some minor and superficial interior renovations and changes that have helped the overall atmosphere feel less dated and grimey. Service was fast and friendly and it was surprisingly easy to flag down a server to ask for things. (An accomplishment that regular dim summers know is not always the easiest thing to do in this kind of resto.) Price has gone up since the Sam Woo days, but is not unreasonable given that this is one of the cleaner and more respectable dim sum joints in town. The food itself is hit or miss, but is about on par with the Mississauga dim sum standard. We ordered most of the staples: Har gow: 3/5 - tastes decent, dumpling wrapper is on the thick side. Shrimp portion is generous but not the freshest tasting. Siu mai: 3/5 - nice meatball texture and flavor, wrapper is good, skinny on the roe topping Lo bak go: 2/5 - almost all paste and no lo bak. Flavor wise very bland and texture is mushy because of the ratio of filler paste to lo bak. Jin dui: 4/5 - very crispy exterior and decent flavor. A little skinny on the filling but otherwise pretty good. Char siu bao: 4/5 - very nice texture on the bread itself. Fairly generous char siu filling that was flavorful, tender and sweet. Lai wong bao: 2/5 - Bun was not as tender and may have been over steamed. Filling was lackluster and no longer runny.

First time coming here since they apparently changed ownership and name. Used to come here all the time when it was “Sam Woo”. I have to say they did a good job keeping everything the same, the place is just as I remembered from several years ago. When we first got in, we got some tea and ordered the combo with a few add on dishes. All the seafood tasted really good from the lobster to the fish to the fried seafood medley(shrimp and squid). Tasted very fresh and delicious. The sweet and sour pork was extremely tasty too, tender and had a nice mesh of sweetness paired with a shuttle and not too strong sour taste. What was surprising was the Bok Choy and mushroom medley. Every bite was tasty and savoury. Food came fast and place was just as I remembered. Only con is that it’s much more expensive than other Chinese restaurants. Just 5 dishes with soup and dessert will set you back $200-300. If you don’t mind spending the extra buck for tasty Chinese food. Then this may be the place for you IMO.

Dim sum is something we have quite often and have tried many different places. This was our first time here as we aren’t in the west very often. The food here wasn’t bad, but I realized very quickly that it made me very very thirsty.

Always one of our favorite restaurants for dim sum or formal Chinese dinner. Food is always consistently good and the staff is always friendly and attentive. Their BBQ meats are also high quality and we often get 燒肉, 叉燒 and 燒鴨 for takeout.
