I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Our group consisted of 32 school staff members, and from start to finish, everything was absolutely pathetic. We arrived at the scheduled time, but our table wasn’t ready, and we were kept waiting for over 3 hours, yes, 3 hrs! To make matters worse, no one bothered to update us on the delay or offer an apology. The service was incredibly slow, and even though we were clearly thirsty, our water glasses were never refilled, and apart from dry bread served, there was no attempt to serve any snacks or appetizers while we waited. When we finally sat down, the servers had a terrible attitude— completely uninterested in providing any form of decent customer service, non-apologetic in their body language, giving us a feeling that we are at their mercy to be fed! Not to forget, the food was pre-ordered, still we had to order again and while the servers finally started serving, they were bringing literally 2-3 plates at a time and again 'n again asking us about what we individually ordered. It was beyond frustrating to have a group of 32 people waiting for hours with no communication or care from the staff. It’s hard to believe that a restaurant can function this poorly in terms of both food and service. On top of everything, they asked for 18% tip!!! Rather they should've paid us for taking so much of our time and patience. If not with good company, I've would've left the place before being served. If you're looking for a place to have a pleasant dining experience, this is definitely not it. Avoid this place if you value your time and expect even the slightest level of professionalism.

Unfortunately my Bake & Saltfish sandwich didn’t meet my expectations, my bake was fried too dark and just absorbed too much oil. While I am aware saltfish contains a lot of moisture my bake was soggy in sections when it arrived. I did end up visiting on day which there were breaker issues so I don’t know if that played a role. The saltfish itself was quite flavourful and I enjoyed the Passion Nojito.

The food and service here was excellent! My friends and I loved shared appetizer platter. The shrimp, plantain, cauliflower, jerk wings, and salt fish balls were all unreal. Would definitely recommend and come again!

Went for lunch I honestly can’t wait to go back. Food is so delicious, but the better part is the portion size for the price! If you buy take away Caribbean food you know how much the cost is, however for a few dollars literally a few more you’re getting so much more and much tastier. The only thing I’d say I don’t really care for is the soda prices that’s the only dislike as they are almost the same price as the cocktails, so indulge in the cocktails ha ha! But shout out to the chef you’re food is perfection!

On a warm day the outside patio sets the stage for a nice evening of great soca music coupled with a fabulous Caribbean tasting experience. Inside is clean and cultural with paintings from various artists on the walls with QR codes to view their work online promoting black art! This place adds excitement to local dining in Markham with a classy flair. The Sorrell Mimosas are a must try they taste amazing and made the dinner taste even better. The oxtail was seasoned to perfection and fell off the bone. Spinach and MacPie was flavourful. Waitresses were helpful and made sure we wanted for nothing, VERY worth it!! I shall return and I must come back!!

A great find while walking the downtown Markham strip in search of a 'local hidden gem' to celebrate our 19th Anniversary over a nice dinner. The charming exterior with all their colourful flowers & plants grown by Ms. Laz Herself is what drew us in first. Anyone that takes that meticulous care & effort of plants surely would for food as well. Super-friendly Chef-Owner/Operator Extraordinaire Ms. Laz filled our bellies starting with the airy, not-greasy but golden crunchy fritters (assorted saltfish & spinach) which I opted to pair with their Passionfruit Margarita since it was our anniversary dinner, and Hubby went with their house beer. After our palates were tickled with course 1, we thrn dove into a hefty portion of their yummy Seafood Bacchanal 🦞🦐, which luckily for us since it was Wednesday, was on special for $65, regularly $75. Without hesitating to state, it was Damn very Tasty & just a hint of heat in the back of the throat😋, loaded with a wide selection of fresh seafoods including lobster🦞, crab🦀, baby potatoes, broccoli & corn. It did NOT disappoint, and with plenty of tasty sauce for Hubby to sop up with their fresh hot bread (as stuffed as he was already...he couldnt leave that sauce behind 🤭😆) To finish, they surprised us with a cassava pone cake topped wth sparklers and an anniversary greeting. A great finish that was a perfect balance of just a light kiss of sweetness and creaminess with an ever-so-thin outer layer crisp just done perfectly👌 Chef Laz even came out towards the meal end to wish us a Happy Anniversary, to speak with us about our meal & experience feedback. She truly is heartfelt and enjoys connecting with her patrons. How often does 1 get this attentive dining service?? Our server/hostess -Jasmin, was attentive, friendly & on the ball❗ She is an absolute doll and the epitome of a great Hostess-Server.Period‼ She is -just like Chef Laz, GREAT! We look forward to returning for another delicious caribbean culinary delight🙆🏽‍♀️

We booked a 60th birthday celebration. From the initial conversation with Jerry and the catering team, l felt we were in good hands. The service was excellent. The staff were polite and attentive, going above beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The Caribbean Soul Food special was indeed special, giving us great options and an unbelievable portion size. We had the upstairs for our gathering that provided an intimate setting with great ambiance. Overall it was an incredible dining experience. Highly recommend
