Wasn’t sure what to expect with it being in a mall but it’s great! We really enjoyed the whole platter. Would come back.

We placed an order through their site for pickup, and paid right away. We placed it for 4pm pickup. We had a confirmation email and text to confirm our order, and notification that the order was ready. We had friends go and pick it up, only for the order to be missing! They spoke with the staff, who was adamant that the order left for delivery. We called and repeatedly told them that there was no possibility of delivery, because we did not include an address and we placed it for pick up. This went on, back and forth, for way too long. They kept trying to investigate what went wrong, without a single instance of "let me make this right". Our friends were standing at the restaurant, attempting to resolve the issue. We called back, and they continued to tell us that they were investigating the issue. I had to tell them to just make a new order, as our friends were standing and waiting. At this point, they had been standing around and waiting for 30 minutes or so. This issue could have easily been resolved in the first 5 minutes. They knew right away that our order was mistakenly given to the person that was delivering orders, and yet they continued to go back and forth in their "investigation" instead of making a new order. Very unhappy with how this was resolved.

Came here for lunch during back to school shopping. The sushi was so delicious and fresh and the karrage chicken was amazing. We have always been happy with the quality of the food here. Like everything else though, it is not cheap. $45 for lunch for 2 people.

### Kibo Sushi at Upper Canada Mall: A Mixed Salmon Bento Delight Nestled in the busy corridors of Upper Canada Mall, Kibo Sushi offers a refreshing pause from the shopping rush. My recent visit led me to try the Mixed Salmon Bento, a dish that, while seemingly simple, managed to hit all the right notes. The bento came beautifully presented, a well-organized symphony of textures and flavors that immediately catches the eye. The portion of salmon was generous, each piece glistening with freshness. Whether seared or served as sashimi, the salmon was tender, almost buttery, melting in your mouth with every bite. The slight char on the seared pieces added a smoky depth, contrasting perfectly with the cool, clean taste of the sashimi. What stood out, however, was the balance in the meal. The bento included a variety of accompaniments, each adding a different dimension. From the crisp, slightly sweet salad to the fluffy white rice, everything was thoughtfully portioned, allowing the salmon to remain the star of the show. As for the Sashimi and Maki Combo, it had a slight twist compared to traditional offerings. While it might not be the most authentic rendition, it certainly caters to cravings. The maki rolls were compact, with a good ratio of fish to rice, and the sashimi slices were thick and fresh, although some might find the seasoning slightly off from the usual. Overall, Kibo Sushi at Upper Canada Mall is more about satisfying cravings than delivering a purist's experience. The Mixed Salmon Bento, in particular, stands out as a reliable choice for those seeking quality and consistency in their sushi. It might not be the most traditional sushi spot around, but it certainly knows how to hit the right spots when you need a sushi fix.

"Kibo means hope." I have ordered take out from Kibo on a regular basis as they have regular discounts, but chose to dine in with my two daughters who love sushi and eat it often. Parking: The parking was unfortunately under construction when we came on this particular visit, so we had to park in a side lot and walk over. Usually, there is ample mall parking outside the market doors. We went back a few weeks later and the parking construction has resolved. Ordering: My daughters are well equipped on what to order and how, but I was unsure. The wait staff were courteous, prompt and available for questions. They explained the menu layout and how to order. Menu: The menu is thorough with pictures and easily laid out. The menu items are available in a variety of options. For someone who isn't a sushi aficionado, I was able to navigate the menu easily. Staff: The ladies who helped us with the menu and ordering were delightful, well informed and prompt in their service delivery. It was like a well oiled machine. Plating: The food came out quickly and at the correct temperature. We were actually surprised at how quickly the food came out! The plating made us want to take pictures. Food: My daughters ordered hand roles and said they would order them again. We started with the Spicy chicken Kara-age. We all enjoyed the tanginess and crunch. The girls had a salmon hand roll and steamed dumplings. Also good. The sauces and dips were delightful and had my girls going back for more. We enjoyed dinner and will be back again. Their website says, "As we embed this belief [of hope] into our restaurant, from selecting fresh, local ingredients, to cooking them with love and serving them to your table with our bright smiles; we hope that you enjoy and appreciate all that we put into your favourite dishes.
