Jac's Bistro

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent experience at your restaurant, where we celebrated our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. As loyal patrons, we have always appreciated your establishment, and our parents are frequent visitors who are well-known by your staff. Unfortunately, our experience November 30 did not meet our expectations. We had requested a custom cheesecake earlier in the week to mark this milestone occasion, but were disappointed to be turned down. Upon arrival, we were assigned a server who was clearly new and overwhelmed with multiple tables, leading to subpar service. We received drinks only once throughout the evening and were charged extra for additional bread. Although I acknowledge that prices have risen, I was taken aback by the substantial increase of $13 for the steak and frites dinner compared to your menu only one year ago. Moreover, the supplementary charges for substituting vegetables with potatoes seemed excessive. Considering the significance of this occasion, I had anticipated a more tailored and attentive service. Notably, we were not offered a complimentary dessert, which was particularly disappointing given our earlier request for a custom cake. I felt it necessary to share my disappointment, as this occasion is truly singular and will not be repeated. It’s very clear our business has meant nothing to you as I wrote in by email and spoke with you over the phone only for you to be defensive and argumentative stating you needed to do your “own investigation “ and here we are two and a half weeks later and no return call. Unfortunate circumstances here but it’s very clear where we stand as customers and we all will be looking for a new place who would appreciate our business!

We expected better food. Definitely we never come here again Our observations - inside, nice and clean - service - no complains - We were there for lunch. Ordered two soups and two steaks. Soups are OK. Some comments about the main course. Steak comes only with fries. No salads. We have got impression that fried Potato was from the fridge just warmed up. It was soggy, no crunch at all. Steak was burned out. One side completely black likes charcoal, not eatable at all. In order to eat remaining meat we had to cut out the layer of charcoal. Looks like the cook has his own understanding about "Well Done" steak. For two soups and two steaks we paid 100$. For that money you can find for lunch something eatable and enjoy lunch without frustration.

It was our first time at Jac's and we were very impressed! From start to finish it was great! The bread with scallion and green onion oil, then the grilled calamari..superb! The main dishes were delicious! I had the braised lamb shank and my better half had the smoked salmon penne. On point for both! We decided to forego dessert only because we were full. I would highly recommend Jac's, a great first impression all around!!

Ok. Wow. What a fantastic diner. The service was exceptional. Good was wonderful. Had the Calamari Fritti. Steak Frits. And the Salmon. Everything was excellent. Our server was charming. Very attentive. She had a wonderful sense of humour.

I had a great first experience at Jacs Bistro during lunch with a friend. The atmosphere was cozy, making it a perfect spot for a casual meal, though perhaps a bit intimate for a date night. The Grilled Chicken and Brie I ordered was mouth-watering, with perfectly balanced flavors and tender chicken. My friend’s steak looked so delicious that I’m already planning to try it on my next visit. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

First time there. Was a comfortable chic atmosphere. Appetizers were great fried and grilled calamari, pear salad and mushroom salad very good. Bread with oil infused with scallions very delicious. Mains were good for all our guests however I had seafood pasta on the menu…it was bland and lacked richness and flavor and pasta was a bit over cooked. My husband had seafood pasta special his had way more flavor. Then we had to rush and skip dessert because of the next booking, unfortunately. Seems a bit ridiculous to have a full meal with drinks, appetizers and main meal in a two hour window for 7. We were 10 minutes late but even if you take that into consideration it was a rush. Can’t enjoy the time have dessert and coffee and after dinner drinks. It was a shame really… Edit: just as a footnote I received an email from the owner, extremely kind gentleman, spoke to him as well, because he wanted to have a conversation. Really took extra steps and is sending off a gift card. Kudos to him as an owner of a restaurant that really cares about his patrons.

Amazing food and excellent service! Celebrated our anniversary at J.A.C.’s Bistro tonight and were totally impressed! From the first phone call to paying the bill, the service was fantastic! Sybila took our reservation with an exuberant and friendly voice, and Christie, our server, was so friendly and attentive with a great sense of humour. 😀 The food was exceptional - compliments to the chefs!! We ordered appetizers to share - grilled calamari and Caesar salad (salad served on two separate plates - so thoughtful), gnocchi, and a steak entree. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection and served steaming hot. The lemon meringue cheesecake was delicious, light, and refreshing. 🍋 All of the food was plated with care and a flare for design that elevated the presentation to the next level! 🙌 An interesting coincidence was that two other couples near us were celebrating their 37th and 48th wedding anniversaries! So, that shows that J.A.C’s is a destination for celebrations! We would definitely recommend J.A.C.‘s Bistro to anyone looking for premium food, nice ambiance, and quality service!

We went there for a Christmas dinner with a group of 6. The server was knowledgeable, attentive and with good sense of humour. Our drinks were served quickly, but we had to wait a good while for the food to arrive. However it was all worthwhile. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The portions were perfect. We all shared amazing salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. The server had no problem giving us separate bills. The restaurant has great ambiance and made a long drive from the city worth it. It’s a beautiful place with charm and amazing food and service. Would go back anytime.
