Halibut House Fish and Chips

We (wife & I) just ordered 2x halibut grilled in garlic butter, chips etc for delivery. Sooo disappointing! Fish was tasteless and dry. Came as a flat rectangle, didnt even look like fish. I wonder if the proprietor has ever had a good fish 'n chips. It's hard to spend good money on poor fare. Not again.

First time at Halibut House at Major Mac location which was recommended by a friend. Had the Cod and chips takeout. Such incredibly friendly service and the fish and chips were delicious and perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back again! Highly recommend.

Food is consistently good, also specials are great value. Service is excellent from a long term employee. Place always feels spotless. Place is huge and never seems busy, hope they stay in business!

Tried their Monday special Haddock and chips for $12.99. Amazing portions and nicely cooked fish. I was surprised how good the chips were as well, as this is where most fish & chip places lose marks. Went again on Wednesday and had their Cod and Chips special which was just as good!! The place was very clean and the service was excellent. I honestly can’t fault anything. This is now my #1 place for fish and chips in York Region.

This is the best fish and chips restaurant I've been to! The place is incredibly clean and hygienic, which really adds to the experience. The food is absolutely delicious – perfectly cooked, fresh, and satisfying. The prices are absolutely worth it, considering the amazing taste and quality of the food. Highly recommend if you're looking for top-quality fish and chips!

Halibut House Fish & Chips Maple is great. The place is clean, well maintained, and bright. The service is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The prices are reasonable and the portions are a perfect size. They have The Cheesecake brand desserts, and their coffee is really good. I rate Halibut House Fish & Chips Maple 5 out of 5 mustaches.

April 15th, 2022 This is a new location. It's nice and clean inside. Food tastes good. When this place first opened, it was kept much cleaner. Last time we went in to order for take-out again, while we were sitting and waiting, I noticed around and wasn't happy with the cleanliness of the place. I will not write everything wrong down here, I'm just hoping they will do a much better job of cleaning and sanitizing cutlery the right way.

I called in a pick up order. The order was promptly ready for when I arrived. I ordered a couple dishes of halibut and sweet potato fries, plus halibut and chips and shrimp, chips and salad. The food was good and decent portioned amount of food. I like that it’s lightly battered and the meals came with a nice slightly spicy sauce. I’ve eaten my share of fresh Alaskan Halibut and this restaurant wasn’t bad. Maple is always a popular area where you could get a glimpse of the elusive travelling panda.
