Great Wall Restaurant

I was a bit sceptical of ordering from this place from reading the 1 star reviews, but our usual take out place unplugged their phone on NYE so I called Great Wall last minute to place an order and the guy who picked up the phone was more than happy to take my order. Please don’t let the negative reviews stop you from ordering. Service was amazing. Portions were huge. And the food was delicious. We ordered both the chicken fried rice, beef fried rice. Pan fried noodles. Sautéed vegetables. Orange beef. And a chicken noodle dish. Egg rolls and spring rolls. We have no complaints. Thank you!

This place should really learn how to cook. I ordered Hunny garlic ribs, they were almost Grey and the worst taste it maid me gage. I phoned to give them the opportunity to give me back my money but the customer service is just as bad as the food. Never eat here .

I’ve been coming here off and on for about four years and I really liked it when I first started. This time it I have to say it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The chicken balls, which you normally can’t go wrong with, were hard, the sauce had a metallic taste to it. And the other dishes were just bland. This is probably the last time I’ll ever come here.

I was in the mood for some Chinese food and thought I would give this place a try. I read some google reviews which had positive things to say as well as 4 stars. However it was possibly the worst food I have ever tasted. The Breaded Shrimp and the General Tao was hard. I couldn’t even bite into it. There was barely any beef in my vegetables. The sauce and the food itself did not have a great flavour. I was very disappointed in my meal. Based on my experience I would not recommend at all.

This is honestly the worst food I have ever eaten, the beef and vegetables were so rubbery and there was like 3 pieces of beef in the entire thing. The breaded shrimp tasted like it was reheated or re-fried. The general Tao chicken was so hard to chew. I’m sooooooooooooooo disappointed I’m just glad it was cheap, will never buy from here again. Since there’s no way to actually reply back to what you were saying, I just gonna have to edit from here, but I promise you I will not be back not only does your food taste terrible your customer service is absolutely poor. To assume that this is a scam because I left a review on the food is absolutely ridiculous. I strongly don’t believe that this is the business you should be in if you don’t know how to deal with your customers especially if they’re giving you feedback on something that they purchased and you’re right maybe because of how cheap it is that explains why taste terrible. Your response alone is just childish and I really hope someone sees this review and saves the headache of even coming to your establishment

HONEST REVIEW… This was the best Chinese food I have had in forever. I almost didn’t order because of a few bad reviews.. do yourself a favour and ORDER!!! It was so nice to get a combination plate without chicken balls!!!!!!!.mine had dry garlic ribs chicken with veg .. rice and egg roll… ribs were meaty … cooked perfect and not old and dry like most places… the veg with my chicken was cooked excellent… not raw and hard as a rock .. not mushy .. perfect.. med firmness.. perfect and the rice and chicken has great flavour and not bland!!! And best of ALL I ordered bbq pork slices which are my fav.. but actually very impossible to find a place to make them right and put some of the sweet sauce over the finished product.. this is a must!!! And this place did that perfectly.. you get a good amount of pork and the sauce is wonderful!!!!!I will never order from any place else ever again!!!! I am a customer for life because it’s honest good food at a good price and it’s very hard to find that. I don’t know who wrote some of those bad reviews but again just order from here because those people must just be Karen’s I promise you will not be disappointed.

Abjectly horrible. Likely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Orange beef was a soggy light brown mess of wet battered ‘meat’. Total absence of anything resembling any type of orange sauce. Maybe a drizzling of soy for colour? Chicken fried rice was an insult to actual chicken fried rice. Keyword: fried. Instead a loosely packed helping of over-cooked and barely fried, tasteless gruel. Vegetable lo mein noodles. Handful of bland vegetables mixed in with even more bland noodles - all stuck together in a lump. Literally no flavour. At all. Nada. Zero. Chicken balls were meh - sorry excuse for watered down sweet and sour sauce. Sweet and sour pork - really great if you like soggy white batter (like the orange chicken), lots of bones decorated with aforementioned red sugar-water sauce. Feel like I just paid $80+ to fill up my kitchen garbage can.

Update: Haven't had this place in a while but just ate it recently. It's still just as good as ever! They offer free chicken wings or pop if you spend over $50. The chicken balls and breaded shrimp are still so good! Also still really love the fact that the sauce is packaged separately. It prevents the fried foods from getting soggy and allows for amazing left overs the next day. Highly recommend this place! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Great place to get North American Chinese Food. My favourite item is the General Tso's Chicken. It is unique to other places because the chicken comes with the sauce separately and then you add it yourself. It keeps it crispy and fresh so that the sauce does not make it soggy. Price is very fair here and if you spend more than $25, you will receive a 15% discount. So basically save the tax. Would come back here for sure for Chinese Food.
