Fool & Flagon

The food was rather good. The atmosphere was rather enjoyable except for no music till later in the evening. The service wasn't horrible but wasn't top-notch either. I understand it was a busy evening, but when I ordered drinks it sometimes didn't seem that the server was paying attention to our group.

Went as a group of 11. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. We pretty much all had different meals, apps, nachos, onion rings and the comments about everything was a thumbs up. Service was excellent, our male waiter was amazing, efficient, polite,funny and kind. He handled all different ages with grace and ease. Coming from many different areas, we all agreed it could be our go to place to meet together in the future.

Went with a friend and was surprised how good the food was. Everything both of us had was fantastic. Only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the beer selection seems like it is from 20 years ago before craft breweries existed. 20+ beers on tap and not a single local brewery. Will definitely go back whenever I'm in that area though.

I highly recommend the fish and chips. It was cooked to perfection and coleslaw and tartar were on point. The bruschetta also really good. Enjoyed our time here. Got to sit outside on a very nice late summer day. Service was great and I would totally come back! I was with a larger group and we all were very happy with our food.

Feels like an old school pub, love the atmosphere. Service was great and our dinner came fast. We had the beef dip and jack Daniel's burger and both were fantastic.. easily best beef dip I've ever had. Will be back.

On a recent day trip through Hamilton to explore waterfalls, we stopped at Fool and Flagon to grab some lunch before continuing on to Niagara Falls. Our first stop took us to Tiffany Falls, one of many in the Hamilton area. The water flow at this time of the year is fairly low but still beautiful. Our next stop was the nearby Sherman Falls, one of my favourites. This one has more flow and is more shaded. I could relax here all day. After consulting our online apps, we stopped for lunch at The Fool & Flagon pub. Our light meal consisted of a Scotch Egg, French Onion Soup, Fish & Chips, and Shepherd's Pie. The food and service were all pretty good, with generous portions. The Scotch Egg was perfectly cooked, with a nice runny yolk and crispy crust. The French Onion Soup was topped with lots of gooey cheese. The Fish 'n' Chips was ordered with two pieces of fish for sharing. It was also quite nicely done and came with a generous amount of tartar sauce, which is rare. The Shepherd's Pie was very good, perhaps one of the best I've had from a restaurant! With could food and good service, I would definitely come back to this place!

Loved the service and the ambience of a typical British pub serving your classic pub dishes with beers on tap. I got the fish & chips, French onion soup, wings and Irish Nachos because of St Paddy’s. The food was all excellent. Everyone in the group loved the vibes and the food. The wings are a go to, I ordered 3 pounds just for take out! Our server was attentive and friendly, despite the St Patrick’s Day crowd. Price wise, it’ll be on the lower level of the current market range of what you’d pay to eat/drink at most pubs these days. Nevertheless, I can say that the Fool & Flagon will be one of my list of go-to English pubs.

We came here for a lunch. The food was amazing! The service was slightly slow even though they were not busy, and just not the most friendly we have ever had, but still good! It was a little dark at our booth, but nothing not worth coming back for!
