As someone who has visited the UK multiple times and from someone who grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland, and lived in the Maritimes for over 10 years, I can honestly say that Fancy's serves some of the most authentic and delicious food I've ever tasted. The servers are friendly. The cook is brilliant and gracious. They use traditional recipes here, all made from scratch. Highly reccomended. Don't forget to try the rice pudding. Brilliant.

Been going here for 20+ years. Always great food, portion sizes, and awesome service. Recently updated atmosphere that looks really great (though I do miss the big fish table 😅) Easily the best fish and chips in Barrie.

I recently ordered takeout, and the experience was just as fantastic. The food was hot and fresh, and the packaging ensured everything stayed crispy and delicious. It was Excellent. Was recommended the Halibut and I completely agree. Halibut was fresh, not too greasy, and full of flavour. Other seafood was also a delight.

The Haddock and chips, Fish Taco, and chicken strips were so tasty. Haddock & Chips: The batter was light and not overbearing. It complimented the Haddock. The batter was also not saturated in oil but very crispy. Fish Taco: 3 soft tocos with coleslaw and crispy haddock with salsa and sour cream on the side. It was so delicious! Chicken Fingers: Very simple and dome right. Crispy and soft with just the right spice. The price was very reasonable. 3 meals, onion ring, beer and 2 drinks= $67 Overall, this place has now been added to our favorites.

The best place for some great seafood Loved their mussels were so so good the red wine variety laws beyond excellent Then ordered their fish & chips which was very flaky & good Besides the fish & chips and mussels the best thing about this restaurant was their service Super above and beyond service. The best service in any restaurant in Barrie so so friendly warm and happy made us super happy too Loved the food here but the service was absolutely fantastic A must try for people in Barrie will love this place I am definitely going there again all the from GTA
