Had a random Monday off and wanted to treat myself to some Dim Sum. We had plenty of seating options because of the day we went. We had tea to sip on while the carts rolled around the restaurant. Service was great! The server told us what everything was and we could say 'yes' or 'no thanks' with the options presented and there was no issue. We ate all the traditional Dim Sum offerings and everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend. Emerald is one of 2 main Dim Sum places in Mississauga and their food and service is excellent.

It's been a while since coming here, but I was in the area and was craving dim sum for lunch. COVID destroyed the dim sum cart service and is sadly missed, but all the same options were available. Service was prompt and accurate! The quality and speed were on point! Admittedly, I did not look closely at my bill to see if gratuity was already added as I included a tip in my total. As always, I would definitely return for quality!

Used to be a good place for tasty affordable dim sum. However, all that has changed from my recent experience in September 2024. Everything including food, service and atmosphere dropped in quality, while prices have increased. Not worth it. The servers and staff were rude an unapologetic when there were mistakes and errors during our visit. They stamped the incorrect size of the item which determines the cost. You can see pen scribbles scratching off the errors. They also made errors on the bill charging each child a fee for tea in which they did not drink. Good thing I reviwed it before paying. Please note 12% gratuity is automatically applied to the bill. There was plastic in my crab claw dish. No apologies or concern when I notified them of it. Unfortunately I do not plan to return to thia place. There are better options.

I used to come here for breakfast before then I stopped going for a while and I came back here for breakfast on the weekend. The food was not as good as before but the price is too expensive, comparing the same dish between this restaurant and the other restaurants, this one is much more expensive. They charged 12% tip in the bill which i didn't pay attention to it so i paid 15% extra tip adding up was 27% tip in my bill.

First time dining here in a group of 10 consist of kids for lunch time at 11:30 AM. Surprisingly, not sure if it's long weekend, there aren't many lineups or jam packed of people. This place looks modern outside and it has a big space inside. I was excited when I saw aunties pushing dim sum carts (which is pretty much a lost art nowadays when most restaurants do made-to-order). There are pros and cons for pushing carts and made-to-order. I seen many unique items on pushing carts such as steam scallops, fried crab claws, bbq duck, green onion lobsters and roasted pork. Although it's cool to see these big dish items being pushed around on the cart, I really don't understand why the restaurant management do that, these dishes should be served when the customers specifically order them coz they are high price items and patrons prefer them to be served hot instantly and not leaving it out cold for long periods of time if no one claims them off the cart. The service isn't the greatest but again, you don't expect service in any Chinese restaurants anyways, LOL The usual steam dim sum items, in my opinion are not as good as other Chinese restaruants. For example, the har gao (shrimp dumplings) and siu mai (pork dumplings), they are both relatively small and the meat aren't as fresh or chewy like other places. And they aren't steamy hot either. I do really like the fried crab claws, the fried octopus was my fav as it's gigantic. Beware that they automatically charged you 12% tip which I am ok with since most Non-Asian restaurants expect you to pay 18%-20% anyways, but just to look at your receipt before paying the terminal coz you don't want to pay an extra 15% not knowing the tip is already included (coz the staff don't tell you which legally they should). There aren't many Chinese restaurants in Mississauga that offers dim sum so Emerald Chinese Restaurant does the job, nothing fancy, nothing spectacular but it provides a spacious space for some authentic Chinese Dim Sum.

Decent dim sum. High prices and hidden fees. Lots of choices on the menu, but prices weren’t really clear. Was having lunch alone. Ended up with quite a high bill at the end of the meal, including a forced 10% tip. Their chicken feet, squid in shrimp sauce, saigo coconut soup, sweet rice cake and sesame balls were pretty good. Pork buns had very little filling, siu mai were decent. Many of their items are sized to be eaten by multiple people, like their plates of greens. But I needed some vegetables to help digest all the meat and bread I had so I ordered them. Good parking, dated interior, but lots of seating. Sometimes service was pushy and other times I had to wave down a server to get their attention.

Started with the hot and sour soup which was OK. The Cantonese chow mein was quite good and was a generous portion. The sizzling beef plate was tasty with good amounts of beef. Service was attentive. I believe paying cash gets you a 5% discount

Honestly reading the reviews I was sceptical and people were right. We came here specifically to try the Lunch Dim Sum as they still had the carts that went around and honestly it was a big mistake. First off the place is WAY too expensive for the quality of food they offer. We spent almost $400 for a group of 6 for Dim Sum which is ridiculous and a complete rip off. All the food on the carts was cold and below average at best. We even ordered a few made to order dishes and were completely disappointed. I’ve been to many Chinese Style Restaurants in the city and this was by far the worst one I’ve been too yet. I don’t like leaving negative reviews but for the quality of food we got versus what we paid made absolutely no sense at all. Everything was pretty heavily fried and even worse in what seemed very old oil. They automatically add a tip so be very careful but I would totally stay away from this place as it’s a complete rip off. Don’t be fooled by my pics as everything tasted way worse that it looks especially with everything being cold just sitting on the carts. Do yourself a favour and find another restaurant.
