Denny’s Restaurant Barrie

The place is completely refurbished in new throughout. I had chicken fried steak and my wife had chicken fried chicken. Would have given the food of five except the corn not fresh , shriveled up in the chef was kind of cheesy cheap on the portion of hash browns. The server we had never came back once to check with us and we were waiting to order another item. My water glass and the wife's teapot was really water-stained and needed a good cleaning. I did not drink the water. The wife said the inside of a teapot was okay.

First time in me and my wife thought we would try it. We got seated and that's as far at it went. After that we sat there for about 15-20 minutes not even a coffee i think they forgot about us. Even though they the staff made eye contact with us several times. Was very strange. To say the least we probably won't be back theres a lot of other breakfast restaurants in this town. Good luck to this place hope they can make it. Cause word of mouth is the biggest advertisement in the world.

Denny’s nachos SUCK!!!! I thought I was getting a good deal on a buy 1 get 1 free stick, and what I actually got was expensive corn chips with cooked onions on them!! PATHETIC!!! I paid like $40, if I wanted plain corn chips with cooked onions I would have gone to the grocery store to get the ingredients not pay out the nose for these NASTY SO CALLED NACHOS!! ALSO I HATE ONIONS, BEWARE, AVOID

For starters, the food was okay, however checked the prices online and they charge more for their dishes here. Also eggs were unseasoned so I went to add some salt to my eggs, quickly stopping myself before I could shake any on my food. This salt shaker was nasty. If something so small could be this disgusting I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like. Our server did not inform us beforehand that they ran out of ingredients for a dish and then asked if it would be okay to make the dish without the one of the main parts of the dish. Both the kitchen and our server didn’t think that they should wait making the other dishes so that our table would all be eating at the same time. She handed a menu to my mother, who’s dish couldn’t be made, and not even 30 seconds later came back and asked her if she had decided on what she wanted instead and was ready to hover over the table until my mother decided. Not once were we asked how our food was once it was brought to our table. We were never offered more water once our cups were empty, we waited at least five minutes (in an empty restaurant) before we had to ask the server when we got the bill to get more water. If I could give less than half a star, I would. Definitely do not recommend this Denny’s. Another location may be better. But this location is definitely not worth going to if you want to actually enjoy your meal and not have your time wasted. Next time I’ll just cook something for myself, their new stuffed berry french toast slam could just be made yourself at home for so much less than it costs here.

Eggs Benedict was amazing & the shredded hashbrowns were perfectly golden...the sauce was buttery & creamy with a wonderful flavor. This was my experience the 1st visit. Since then, I have been back twice & my poached eggs were overcooked both vists... There must be different employees in the kitchen. I suggest a timer for the poached eggs in the kitchen if the staff are new to a commercial kitchen. I asked for soft & I got served well done. The second time the manager gave me a discount. This location was reasonably clean; the window area (wood) was not cleaned in quite some time. Prime rib Benny is also great with fresh peppers & hollandaise sauce (great tasting sauce). All American breakfast was also delicious & the coffee had nice fresh flavor. Beautiful prints adore the walls & the location is well lite. This location appeared well staffed for a busy morning breakfast. This made for little waiting time before we were seated. Reasonable time to be served our meal from the kitchen after ordering. Overall, the food & decor is why I gave a 5 star rating.

Starting off with the positives, the waiter was lovely and the restaurant was clean. It was quiet but chill, no complaints there. My complaints are in regards to the food. I ordered the veggie omelet (comes with toast) with a side of fruit... my favourite part was the fruit. The omelet was fine, very bland but fine. My toast however was desecrated! It was two peices sliced in half, and only one of my toast was buttered and both were burnt, crusty and dry! Poor bread. My buddy ordered a sandwhich, also wasn't phenomenal but she didn't have anything negative to say about it.. nothing positive either though. The hashbrowns were also fairly salty. I give +1 star for the amazing service, and +1 star for atmosphere. The food was mediocre, if not disappointing.

Great meal today. Anthony was our server and he was fantastic. I overheard him telling another group that it was his second day and I have to say it was the best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time! The food was excellent. We will definitely be back!
