Daal Roti Indian Tadka House

I would not recommend the Pickering location. I ordered a pickup and found the experience disappointing. The food quality was below expectations — both the lacha parantha and naan were undercooked, and the chicken and paneer gravies lacked flavor. Considering the restaurant’s price point, the minimum expectation is properly cooked and flavorful food. There are definitely better options in the area that offer greater value and a better overall experience.

I love Indian cuisine and I prefer to dine at all-you-can-eat buffets because it allows me to try different dishes without having to know the names of the dishes (if I had to order from a menu). Although Daal Roti has been open for four years now, and is very close to home, this was my first time dining here. The food was decent but it wasn't very warm, and appeared a bit sparse. My favourites included the Mutton Curry and the Butter Chicken. A couple of the veggie dishes were also good but I don't know the names of them. Sadly, the Tandoori Chicken was very dry. Overall, the food was just okay It was raining outside and this floor was SLIPPPERY. I mean dangerously slippery, like walking on ice. Thank goodness I was able to maintain my balance. At this price point, there are better places.

Went with the DR Mississauga experience which brought us huge disappointment!!!! Same weekend price but poor menu and taste. Tandoori chicken was way poorer than expected. Goat curry, butter chicken were all name sake. Service and location are all fine. Good parking lot options even on weekend. Not recommended for a second visit.

Placed a delivery order from Daal Roti Indian Tadka House in Pickering for three vegetarian dishes - Bhindi Masala, Mutter Paneer & Daal Makhani each of which included a complimentary naan or roti. We selected both naan and roti. All the three dishes were really good. I didn’t see any extra oil in either of the dishes. They were all made pretty well. The bhindi masala looked quite appetizing and the bhindi was crispy. The mutter paneer gravy tasted great with the right amount of spices. The daal makhani was delicious too. The only thing I felt was that the naan wasn’t crisp and a bit thick. The rotis were fine. The total cost for the order was $60 which is pricey but the quality was pretty good. One of the best Indian restaurants in the Durham region that I have tried so far!

Loved my visit here , they have buffet and also ala carte menu and the best part was their buffet so many delicious new indian curries and the traditionals too. My personal fav has to be kaju curry and veg biryani/ pulao. Other then that they also have huge parking outside the place and their prices are fairly reasonable.

There is something for everyone! A wide variety of vegetarian dishes , non veg dishes, a la carte and a buffet. ( Complete with chaat bar ) I loved everything I tasted. I do eat meat however, I found myself inhaling all the tasty vegetarian dishes. Sooo yummy. The garlic naan was also a highlight. It was thick and perfection. I'll definitely be back .

We’re in the process of eating at all of the restaurants in this area and stopped here a couple days ago for lunch. We really enjoyed it. The buffet looked good with lots of options but we decided to just order from the menu. We got Navratna korma and Chicken Korma plus a side of rice and naan. Everything was so flavourful. I also like when attention is paid to details: everything from the silverware, plates and bowls to the furniture and simple decorations was quite nice. Definitely recommend!

I rarely give 5 star rating for a place but this place worth it. It serves a buffet that one can enjoy to the fullest - not too many items to confuse you but each and every item shows that it’s prepared with care with optimal spice levels. The best Indian buffet I have tried so far in the GTA. The place has awesome host who is very polite and takes good care be it serving the tables or refills. Only one thing that could be made better is the variety of rise dishes. The buffet we had only had jeera rice. A biriyani could be nice to have. Update: shocked to see sharp degradation in the quality of both food & service of this place... in our recent visit, could not leave these unnoticed... - Most of food trays were not getting refilled, even after requests... this was around 1:45 pm, while scheduled buffet end time was still pretty far. - Taste of food became pretty common, missing the awesomeness that I experienced earlier. - The server argued that "15% service charge" is different from tips and tips should be separate.
