The D’Hot Shoppe has been one of my favourite restaurants ever and I have frequented them for over 10 years now. My favourite item is the Beef Roti, with gravy on the side, but there is also chicken, goat or vegetable roti. The roti wrap is made in house and the dough has split yellow pea in the middle which adds a nice texture. The roti filling is a mixture of curried meat, potato and gravy. I have tried the doubles, and Jamaican Patties too and both are great. The Jerk chicken is also popular. They do an amazing job and continually win the readers choice awards year over year. It’s a unique family owned concept of great quality food at reasonable prices and authentically Caribbean.

I absolutely love D Hot Shoppe! The food is authentic and delicious, with amazing flavors. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. The goat and chicken roti’s and Jamaican patties are my favorites, and they never disappoint. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a taste of home-cooked Caribbean cuisine. Can't wait to visit again!

Great spot to get your Roti cravings. We ordered 1 goat roti and 1 jerk chicken roti. Both were amazing in flavor. Very nice staff and food doesn't take very long to get, despite how busy this place is. Great job D Hot Shoppe

We ordered lunch at work as a co-worker had recommended this place. I had the large Jerk Chicken Roti with gravy on the side. The chicken was seasoned well but the potatoes were very bland. It's large and filling but just not my thing I guess.

First time going and decided to try out the goat roti. I’m not one for spicy food so I did find it a little spicy but in a good way. It was full of flavors and the wrap it came in was so soft and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I had some small bones in my meat but enjoyed the rest of it. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is full of bright colours which goes with the Caribbean vibes. I can see why they have won many awards.

**D for Delicious! A Trini Treasure in Burlington** If you're craving an authentic Caribbean experience without leaving Southern Ontario, look no further than D Hot Shoppe! This unassuming eatery on Fairview Street is serving up the real deal - island vibes, finger-licking flavors, and hospitality as warm as the Trinidadian sun. Owned and operated by the delightful husband-wife duo Simone and Gabriel, D Hot Shoppe has been dishing out good vibes for over 18 years. These two lovebirds emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago, bringing with them a treasure trove of traditional recipes and culinary secrets handed down from Gabriel's beloved "Nanny." The star of the show? The roti, of course! The curry chicken and jerk chicken rotis, ordered "hot," pack a serious punch of fiery Caribbean spice. Gabriel's homemade hot sauce is liquid lava in the best way possible - a few drops will have you seeing visions of sunny skies and swaying palms. For the spice-averse, fear not - their mild jerk chicken dinner is a flavor revelation without scorching your tastebuds. But don't stop there - the menu is a love letter to West Indian cuisine, with iconic specialties like curry goat, doubles, and more. Thanks to Gabriel's closely guarded "secret roti sauce" recipe, these curry-filled flatbreads are a revelation. Beyond the mouthwatering fare, it's the welcoming family atmosphere that makes D Hot Shoppe truly special. Simone and Gabriel treat every guest like an old friend, dishing out generous portions of warmth alongside the scrumptious grub. So the next time you're craving an island escape, skip the pricey plane ticket and head to D Hot Shoppe instead. This Trini gem offers a guaranteed getaway for your taste buds – no passport required!

Tried this restaurant and I was mildly disappointed. Got the large curry chicken roti and jerk chicken with rice and peas. Meat was super tender and juicy, roti was soft, but there was one problem. It was lacking flavour. It tasted very bland for me even though I could see the jerk seasoning. Most of the flavour came from the side curry that came with it and the random kick of medium spice from the chilis. But most bites were bland. Hopefully that was just a one off day. Willing to give them another try cause there was so much potential. Felt like chef forgot the salt on my order.
