Casual Pickering

Servers were good, hostess/head server was not. She proceeded to yell at our group when they suggested to move a table. Drinks took a very long time. Food was disappointing. I ordered the chicken souvlaki, it was described as skewers on a Greek salad with pita bread and tzatziki. I got 3 cold small skewers on a palm full of some old romaine, a few pieces of onion, 1 grape tomato cut in half and 3 olives on top of a pita with no dressing on "the salad" with tzatziki on the side. Someone beside me had the Guinness stew special and it smelled horrible and looked like it was out of a can. No one was impressed with anything that came out of that kitchen. Really disappointed by the whole experience. I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews came from, if they were paid to write it? But I would not recommend.

We went there tonight for a casual, enjoyable bite. NOT!!! We waited 25 minutes for drinks. Table next to us felt bad enough for us, THEY called the manager over and told him we had been waiting 25 minutes. No apologies, he walked away and raised his voice in the kitchen at someone. We ordered a Stella and Virgin Ceasar. After another 15 minutes we were presented with a coke and regular Ceasar. Alcohol is a serious no no for me. Good thing I said, "this is a virgin Ceasar right"? Oh no it's not. Let's try that one again. Another 25 minuted we received our proper drinks. We ordered a burger with bacon and cheese and nachos. We were presented with nachos and fish and chips. Let's try this again. The nachos were burnt and no burger to come. Waitress apologized for human error and machines error, NOT! Presented with the bill, still had the charges for the cheese and bacon, but not the burger which we never received or ate. Let's try the bill again. Waitress said, " this was bad, no need to tip" Absolutely not!!!! Worst experience in a restaurant in a long while. Watched the manager walking around trying to look to engaged and busy. Upon exiting this fabulous place, so called manager and hostess in a heated argument at the front entrance, I motioned with my hands to let me out this circus. This place should be shut down!!!! Bloody circus!!!!!! I would like my $49 back please.

Disappointed is an understatement. Our server tried his best but the rest of the staff, from bartender to the kitchen were useless at best. It was like watching a dysfunctional family solve a problem at an escape room. Drinks took an eternity, food just as long, chaos everywhere and the staff seemed to be at each other's throats. ... It all would have been easier to deal with had the food been good. It was not, although the fries were decent, the ceasar wrap was, at least, a wrap with chicken but I'm not sure whoever made the Caesar dressing had any idea what it was supposed to taste like. And way, way overpriced for what we got. I could go on, but I won't. I hope that this was a one off kind of night for them.

We really enjoyed our meal at casual Pickering in the casino my nachos were so big that I had to take them home and make two meals out of it. And I asked for no salsa and just sour cream, and they gave me so much. I was very impressed. My waitress Zane was very kind and on top of everything I will definitely be coming back for more nachos.

How can you not be energized in a casino! It would be advantageous to the establishment if the restaurant was the same, feel the two should go hand-in-hand. Heaven knows how much dough is lost in that place nightly. Portions seemed small for the pricing, but I guess you don’t go there to eat! Would be a small consolation if one could feel that they got a little value from their experience… Dessert tasted like it came right out from a big box store refrigerator. It can only go up from here ;)

Nice, cozy sports bar/restaurant with favourably hours for night owls like myself. Limited menu but the food is good on the pricey side though, good thing is that you can use the comp from your players card towards food in the facility so that is a plus. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that the food takes a long time to come out even when it doesn't seem to be busy.

Decent selection of soups, beer on tap, salads, pasta, burgers, steaks and dessert. I had the 10oz Sirloin Steak and 10oz Pork Chop. The steak tasted better and was worth the extra cost. The fish and chips is also a popular selection. Overall pricier than other restaurants in Pickering, but it's expected inside a casino. It's the most popular restaurant now that the buffet is closed.
