Butt Karahi | Famous Halal Pakistani Restaurant

There is no option to rate 3.5 star so I rated this place 4 star Chicken Karahi was okay. Chicken was bit dry, flavors were okay but I wish they had more options on the chicken. Something with vegetables would have added more flavors to the karahi. Paneer Karahi was okay, I have tasted better at some places. Breads were fresh and I really enjoyed the naan and khamiri roti. Service was good so I rated them 5 star for it. Place was clean.

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Butt Karahi, and I must say, their goat karahi truly lives up to its name. The taste was exactly like the famous Lahori Butt Karahi – rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their butter and garlic naan, it was an unforgettable meal. Every bite reminded me of authentic Lahori cuisine. MashAllah, it was a treat for the taste buds! I’d rate it a solid 10/10. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true Lahori karahi experience!

Amazing addition to east end, delicious and flavourful food, chose half Butt chicken Karahi, paneer karahi, lahori fried fish, seekh kabab, garlic fries, butter naan. Fish was served with two yummy chutneys. All items were cooked to perfection and wonderful aroma. Karahis were served with lots of quantity. All items were prepared fresh. Staff were highly trained and friendly. Atmosphere, furniture and cutlery 10/10. Fully recommended who loves Pakistani food

Excellent family ambience. Great Lakshmi Chowk taste. We tried their goat karahi, chicken karahi, chicken kababs and Lahori fish. For deserts we tried Rabri Faluda, Gajrella and Gulab Jaman. All made to our taste. Way to go. Well….. we are also from Lakshami Chowk Lahore so very excited to see them here near Toronto. 🌟 Will definitely return again and also try their Desi chicken karahi inshallah.

The service is good. The butt chicken Karhai wasn't the taste I was looking for. Chicken karhai's color is dark brown. This one was very light brown, that means it hasn't been karhai'd enough. Kahan was good but overcooked so it got dried Chicken Biryani was good.

I’m honestly surprised on the current 4.8 rating. At the moment this restaurant needs MAJOR improvement in their Karahis. We ordered, Butt special Chicken Karahi Butt special Mutton Karahi Daal Channa Lahori Fried Fish Other assortments The chicken karahi was not even close to a Karahi, let alone compare it with Butt Karahi. The chicken had a weird taste to it, as if it wasn’t really fresh. The gravy was disappointing to stay the least, lacked the necessary “Karahi” flavor to it. Mutton karahi was just okay, needs improvement. Fish was decent. Channa daal was good. We were hyped about the restaurant due to their name and honestly speaking, it has a good appeal visually. We set our expectation bar very high, and we left disappointed. I hope the restaurant can look into how to improve their key selling dishes and figure out the inconsistency. If I’m not mistaken, this was their first weekend after opening, we expected the restaurant to be busy on Saturday night, hence called up to make a reservation early in the day. To our surprise, during the time we dined in, we may have only seen probably 5-6 tables occupied apart from ours. 75%+ of the restaurant was empty, with one half closed. Either that tells us that the opening left people disappointed or someone didn’t do their job well in marketing. Hence I wonder how is this place rated 4.8. With that said, I want to definitely visit again and reconsider my opinion if they improve.

Thank you so much for opening this Restaurant in Pickering as it will serve east end of Toronto and Durham region. This Restaurant is a gem in traditional Pakistani cuisine. We tried Fish Karahi and Chicken Karahi served in typical flat Wok/Karahi (different from traditional Woks/Karahis) as served in Lahore. Both the Dishes were excellent! We requested for Chicken to be a little more tender than usual and were obliged accordingly. Very unique and different tasting Karahis compared to what is generally offered. Ambiance cannot be any better, a professional purpose built Restaurant. We were served by Preet, she was very professional and courteous and went above and beyond in ensuring that we are comfortable and we truly enjoy our Dining experience here. I wish to congratulate the owners and Management of this Restaurant wish them all the very best. Simply amazing Food, Service and Ambiance and a Great Restaurant. Pakistani cuisine Zindabad!!! Strongly recommended!

Five Stars All The Way !!! Having seen how popular their first restaurant in Mississauga was and after hearing rave reviews of the quality & taste of their food, we had been waiting with bated breath for launch of Butt Karahi's Pickering location. Finally we were able to savour the same great flavours today - as they say in India, it was "First Day First Show" for us as we happened to their first guests after doors opened at 3 pm today, Dec 9th. We ordered the following: 1. Lahori Fish 2. Butt Special Chicken Karahi 3. Charsi Lamb Karahi 4. Garlic Naan with butter 5. Lassi Jug The food was sublime - right from the perfectly fried fish, to the mouth-watering chicken, the tender morsels of the peppery charsi lamb and the Lassi. The hospitality was top-class with Ehsaan going out of his way to make us comfortable and serving us with a warm and welcoming smile. Suffice it to say that our already high expectations were totally blown away. Since this location is so close to home, we will for sure be regulars here soon.
