Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar

I talked my husband out of going to the South End to get The Keg. Instead I told him we should try a restaurant in the North End since it's closer to where we live. On first glance I wasn't too impressed with the menu- we wanted steak. I read a few reviews and to be honest when it came to the filet they weren't great and I didn't see the prime rib on the menu for takeout. Anyway we ordered two steak dinners. My husband really enjoyed his loaded baked potato, but I ordered truffle fries and they were absolutely terrible- definitely not worth the extra $7.00. The french fries themselves were awful and tasted like they just came out of the freezer. Vegetables were okay, but nothing to rave about. Finally, the steaks. They were cooked well (medium-well), but there was absolutely no flavour. I get you have to cook pretty bland to appease the masses, but I never have this complaint at the Keg or other steak houses that we visit. Overall, this was our first time visiting a Baton Rouge and unfortunately, it will be the last. For the price we paid, I would not recommend. You can pay the same amount or less depending on what you choose to order and get a better meal elsewhere.

I had the pleasure of dining at this Baton Rouge gem for the first time, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Paul provided exceptional service—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable—and made our experience truly memorable. The food was absolutely incredible—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. It’s clear that this restaurant prioritizes quality and customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

We were in Sept 3/24 for a birthday lunch for my step-daughter. Jenna our server was great . Have always had good Service every time we come in Staff are very attentive and make sure everything is to our satisfaction. Food is great good size portions have never been dissapointed. We keep coming back.

Outstanding service, and fantastic meal! Highly recommend for a special night out, or simply for some top tier service and fancy drinks. The photo shows BRAISED BEEF & AUTUMN HARVEST MEDLEY Braised beef short rib perfected in a porcini veal stock served on a bed of sautéed autumn medley of beets, parsnips, fingerling potatoes and Nantes carrots, finished with fresh parsley and micro greens.

Overall satisfying food and ambience of the place. The best creme brulee I have tasted in Barrie! First time trying and I will be back.

Wow wow wow My recent dining experience at this establishment was truly impressive. The food was Fantastic, and the staff delivered top-notch service. I was particularly impressed by the teamwork displayed by the waitstaff, as they worked together to ensure that all orders were taken and served in a timely manner. The owner's personal touch at the end of the meal was also greatly appreciated.

Our server Emilie was absolutely wonderful! She was very attentive and so kind. We sat on the patio and the atmosphere was nice. I ordered the steak tartare and maf & cheese - both were 10/10 delicious. Portions felt just right also. My only feedback would be my martini. The photo is exactly how it came out. Would have been nice if the glass was more full as this is an extremely small portion.

We wish we could give more than 5 stars! Was a great evening of nice ambiance, delicious food and first class service. Diana was our server and she was kind, attentive and professional. Even though the restaurant was busy, Diana made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. We will make this restaurant our go-to place for date night. The mushroom chicken was delicious and obviously prepared with high quality ingredients by a very skilled chef. Can’t wait to go back soon with some friends!
