BestLiving Motel & Restaurant

This is the first review I've ever wrote but I had to with this dive. We stayed here last weekend as we where in the area on motorcycles. When we first arrived we had our doubts about staying here do to the appearance on the out side . Example old tires stacked along the side walk that where full of garbage , weeds high enough to loose a small child in and hundreds of cigarette butts laying around . Once we got in our room it didn't get any better, between the hand prints on the head board in the dust , the AC never work a double it appeared the bedding wasn't changed this year ! We call around to 8-10 other motels to stay something else but they where all full. Next time I'll sleep beside my bike under a bridge before I stay at Northland motel and restaurant ever again. This place should be condemned.

Four old tires filled with garbage stacked by the door to our room ... Two foot high weeds and hundreds of cigarette butts in parking lot... No hot water... I'm a dirty ole biker and I was totally disgusted by this place. We were going to have Chinese food in the restaurant, but after seeing the rooms, we were not going to chance it.

Owners are very nice. Food in the restraunt is do delicious!! Rooms are fine. You have to run the water for a little but for the hot water was never an issue always plenty and pressure was great. It was very clean. Great family owned business

this is a good budget motel. do not expect modern or fancy. it was clean, but outdated and economical. A wonderfully nice and very friendly and accomodating owner who does most of the work herself. Don't expect fancy, expect simple affordable comfort, we stayed 2 and would stay again. This young woman works hard to support her kids in this little roadside motel and restaurant. the food in amazing!!! good cheap breakfast and fabulous chinese and thai the rest of the day!

I did not stay at the motel, but have had breakfast and dinner there many times. The breakfast is simple, cheap and good. They have a Thai menu for dinner. I have had several of their Thai dishes and found them all to be very good. My favorite is their spicy basil beef and it's delicious.

We wanted to go to this region around the Thanksgiving wekeend, so we picked this hotel as pretty much everything else around the muskoka/algonquin region was booked or ridiculously priced. The price for this hotel was fairly reasonable in comparison and it offers a good central location if you plan to visit a few different cities over the weekend (Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Orillia, etc)||||We have no complaints about the way the hotel staff did their job, but the rooms are definitely screaming for an upgrade or at least some deep cleaning. There were many places you could see dust, or just downright dirtiness. On our first night we decided to discard one of the bed covers because it just had an odd inconsistent grayish color throughout. Chair fabric seemed dirty as well, and overall the whole place could do with a bit more detailed cleaning. ||||There's a restaurant as part of the hotel, and as far as the restaurant is concerned we really had no complaints. Had a breakfast and a dinner there during our stay, and the food seemed fresh and tasty. The wifi was pretty decent, we were able to watch streaming video without problems, but there were some problems with the remote control (couldn't channel surf using arrows, had to enter buttons)||||Overall, a fairly forgettable experience, but if you don't plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel itself and only need a place to stay overnight for a reasonable price, this place will probably do the job.

Decided to try this place as we drive by it. Ordered seafood Pad Thai and calimari. Calimari was good and cooked properly good seasoning. The Pad Thai was just poor, lacking seafood, no taste. I have eaten Pad Thai at many Thai restaurants and this was the poorest example. Won't stop here again. Sorry for the owner but maybe they make other dishes better. Edit. New restaurant now and I think they renovated the rooms.

The room was spacious (two small double beds) and en suite with shower. We were told it would take fifteen minutes to get warm water in the shower but it was faster. However there was no obvious way to lock the door from the inside and we could hear other guests late at night, during the night and early morning. Also to get there while travelling south you have to double back on the highway.
