BAB Korean Food & BBQ

Probably one of the better Korean spots in Hamilton! There’s always busy, we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated on a Friday night as the restaurant is quite small. We really enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend getting the Korean fried chicken or getting one of their hotpot as their portions are huge. We also got their Tteok bokki (rice cakes), the sauce was really tasty but a lot of their rice cakes were cracked or broken. Staff was nice and food came out fairly quickly! Would definitely recommend checking them out.

Absolutely wonderful service, and so friendly! One of my faves out of several i have been to. The food was extremely filling and very tasty! Kimchi was sooooo good, I got some extra to add to my leftover take home! Large portions.. I would definitely recommend this place! 😊👍

One of the worst food I have ever had! The seafood pancake was actually inedible. The center was unseasoned raw dough. The kimchi Jjigae was not made with pork belly but thinly sliced hotpot meat. Even the rice was a big messy blob! It was like thick congee! And it was not cheap. 3 dishes came to over 60 bucks, one of which I literally had to recook. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!

This place is always packed and for good reason! Hole in the wall Korean spot right by McMaster University campus. Price value is there, and quick service once you’ve waited for your table. The side dishes are nice, but are pretty standard. The gamjatang is good, but lacks any of the classic spicy flavour. Great amount of pork though. Bulgogi is alright too. Good service, thank you for your recommendations, I’ll definitely be coming back because of the great prices and convenience in location!

For starters, you can't go wrong with tteokbokki and haemul pajeon. The tteokbokki's chewy rice cakes smothered in a spicy, sweet sauce are addictive, while the haemul pajeon—a savory seafood pancake—is perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. The kimchi jeon offers a tangy counterpart, making for a great appetizer. And don't skip the soup that accompanies the lunch specials; it's flavorful and comforting. Service here is efficient—a solid 5/5. Staff are attentive and present, ensuring your needs are met without any overbearing friendliness, which suits the no-nonsense vibe of the place. The food truly speaks for itself here. The one downside? The wait can be lengthy. With about six to seven tables and no reservations, peak times can see a wait of up to 45 minutes. But the quality of the meals makes it worth the potential delay. It's a testament to the place's popularity when you're willing to wait for a table—evidence that what awaits you is worth the patience.

Usually get their delivery, but decided to eat onsite this time. Simple place with very tasty food. Five stars all around for being exactly what it should. Not pretentious, good home-style food. It’s popular for a reason. Very friendly staff, both in the kitchen and dining room (kitchen is somewhat open which adds to the authentic vibe). Lots of delivery orders being prepped the entire time we were there, so don’t hesitate- they’ve got it all figured out.

I was out in West Hamilton last week and had the great pleasure to meet the lovely sisters who own Bab Korean Food & BBQ. They have only been open since September and the food was great! My friend had their awesome Korean fried chicken. It was perfectly cooked with a fluffy breading and great flavour. It was accompanied with a mildly spicy dipping sauce that made the dish. I had Bulgogi Bibimbab for the first time. It features rice with a stir fried marinated beef, vegetables with an egg on top. It is served in a warm stone bowl which was a nice touch. I loved it and would definitely have it again. If you are out in West Hamilton, definitely check them out.

The food was incredibly satisfying. In terms of price and portion size, it was all competitive and worth it. We found out that there's new ownership of this location, and we are so happy that she's able to maintain the overall quality of BAB korean. In addition to her pleasing personality and over the top customer service of all the employees from servers to the chefs, it is wonderful to see that they all treat each other like a family and it is those kind of businesses that deserves to be supported by the community. Definitely going back here! We loved everything.
