September 23, 2024 ⭐️⭐️ I visited ALLWYN'S for the first time, excited to try their beef patties, as it seemed like a new spot in the area. Unfortunately, this was one of my least favorite experiences for beef patties. The patty wasn’t filled properly, and the crust was hard, almost as if it wasn’t fresh. I’m used to Allan’s Pastry Shop in Scarborough, where the patties are always delicious and satisfying, so my expectations were high. Sadly, ALLWYN'S didn’t meet them this time.

Date/Time of visit: September 23 around 7p. First visit to Pickering location. The guy working was friendly and efficient. Ordered 4 spicy beef patties. They came straight out of the oven piping hot which was perfect, however I found it to be slightly under seasoned and not spicy. If they have extra spicy, I'll try next time. Very bright and clean restaurant with seating of table and chairs. **cash or debit only**

The stuffed sandwich was sooo delicious. I’m coming back for more. The jerk chicken was flavorful and paired perfectly with the coleslaw, patty and coco bread. 10/10

This place is a W! If I could, I would give this place 10 stars - I’m amazed and can’t rave about their food enough. Firstly, the owners and servers they were absolutely amazing! Warm atmosphere - check! Their jerk chicken sandwich was the biggest win for me tonight! It’s easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve had since I moved here. It was loaded with chicken, had a crunchy patty and fresh coleslaw. And because we’re foodies, my friends and I also ordered their jerk wings, plantain and jerk chicken on rice and devoured all of that…Their portions are huge and their flavours are authentic. All in all, we were beyond happy after our dining experience here. Can’t wait to be back to try something new. Alwyns goes ALL IN!

Tried this food chain for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the Jerk Chicken sandwich and heard good reviews so I decided to try it out myself. It was one of the best Jerk Chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Good flavour, juicy and the meat was tender. The coleslaw added a nice sweetness to it. My preference but I wish it was a bit spicier. I heard their spicy beef patties were delicious so I got one as well. I was very disappointed when i seen my beef patty. It was hard like a rock and very over baked. I’m not sure if it happened in the back when they took it out the oven or if the temperature of the warmer was too high. But nonetheless I didn’t end up finishing the beef patty.

Family friendly, some food does have some mild heat, plan accordingly if bringing/getting food for young kids. We got a Jerk Chicken and a combo box of Curry Goat and Oxtail, all with rice and peas and coleslaw. The jerk chicken is boneless, flavour was decent, heat was mild, but it doesn't have that smoky char that I'm used to when I get jerk chicken. The oxtail and curry goat were fork tender, and not spicy, my 3yr old was able to enjoy some. The coleslaw was not as sweet as I'm used to, but it was still a refreshing crunch. Seating is very limited, but we were able to snag one of the tables.

I finally made it to Allwyn's in Pickering to try their Jamaican food! They have six locations across the GTA and this one, I believe, is the newest. I had their Curry Goat, while my friends had the Jerk Chicken, and a combo of Curry Goat and Oxtail, all with Rice and Peas and Coleslaw. The curry goat was flavourful. So was the oxtail. Interestingly, the chicken was boneless. I really liked their creamy coleslaw and their hot sauce had a very nice flavour. On my way out, I got a small order of Curry Chicken, and an order of their Beef Pumpkin Soup for dinner that day. Both were generous servings of tasty goodness! Overall, it was pretty good.

Much needed new spot in Pickering. Have probably tried almost everything on the menu except for the sandwiches. All pretty good. Pattys are normal size here. Spicy beef is my fave. Wish there were more types. Curry goat patty would be nice. jerk wings can only be ordered on the weekends but they are very tasty.
