York Shawarma

I come to York Shawarma during my lunch break sometimes and always receive great customer service and great food. They are very generous with their portions in both the plates and the sandwiches. For these reasons I keep coming back to this place on my lunch breaks and I hope it doesn’t change!

Writing this review right at this moment when I'm having their beef shawarma platter and giving them a 5 out of 5. Sumoq was the best shawarma I had until I came here. I ordered Beef shawarma platter. The meat is so flavorful. The rice appears to be white and plain but it absorbs the flavor and goes along with the meat very well. I asked for some extra sauce and there it was on my plate without asking any extra cents. Don't ever miss this place if you come along this slide. Apart from food, the ambience and the washroom is also very neat and pleasant. The person who took my order was so polite.

Boring Shawarma, they don’t mix the ingredients at all so you can get mouthfuls of just meat or just veg and they don’t use a panini press to heat it up so the wrap is cold when they serve it to you. Worse they decided that there was nothing wrong with any of this and opened two more locations. Don’t get me wrong, the food is fine, there are just other places that do shawarma better.

Forgot to take a picture of the chicken shawarma wrap. I haven't had shawarma in awhile and this spot has some great shawarma. Unfortunately they only had chicken at the time, but it was very tasty, the spices, the tender and crisp, were not dry amidst the standard toppings, it is a great spot. The garlic sauce has a very smooth texture and is not too strong but definitely packs flavor and a hint of sweet. The hot sauce looked homemade and it was subtle, the heat was not intense but very delicious. The garlic potatoes with both sauces were really good. For the local area it is a nice quaint spot, hidden in the industrial area.

Great food and service. Expect a bit of a line at noon but it moves quickly. The Shawarma is some of the best I’ve had and worth the trip. Had the chicken and beef. Oh and their hot sauce is 👌🏼

Good food! 👍 highly recommend when you're in the area. Just didn't have A/C when I ate there. And in the heat that we have this summer, having air-conditioning for dining is almost a must. But I still would come back. Got a mix of chicken and beef and it did not disappoint. Potatoes were well-seasoned :)

I like getting shawarma served off the spit. They must have had a busy day as it was all on grill. I seen them put up a new slab of chicken. Service was good the chicken shawarma was good. Drove by this place a million times and finally decided to try.

Good lunch spot if you're in the mood for some middle eastern eats. Their sandwiches are well priced and make for a hefty lunch. The 'pita bun' is on the thicker side but seems fresh and made in-house (not sure if this is actually true). The meat is generous and great quality. Definitely recommend this spot for lunch in the area.
