First time having a teppanyaki and it was well worth the experience! Darwin was amazing, he showed off his skills and I felt amazed like a 10 year old! Plus just in general he was funny, which just added to the experience! Really loved the food, the seafood tasted fresh and the steaks were also delicious! Will definitely be back!

This restaurant is split into two distinct zones—one for sushi and one for teppanyaki. So, don’t panic if you’re expecting a hibachi experience and find yourself entering through the sushi area, it's just on the other side. The chef put on an absolutely hilarious performance for me and my party of nine. Seriously, this place is great for hosting bigger groups. The prices are totally fair, especially considering the bougie area it’s located in. The seating was mostly comfy, though the knee room was a bit tight. I’m guessing it’s thanks to all the mechanical stuff beneath the stove From what I've researched, this seems to be one of the best hibachi spots in the greater Toronto area. Definitely worth the visit and I would definitely come back!

Great teppanyaki food, good vibes! Perfect for a weekend dinner. As a vegetarian, I loved this place . We ordered Vegetable dragon roll, teppan rice , tempura veggies, avocado and cucumber roll! Loved everything- on point authentic flavors !

As a regular dining in Yamato since 1998, I have no negative things to say, their food was always up to a standard, however last night’s teppanyaki dinner was good but not great, it seems like portion gone slightly smaller, meat thinner, veggies a bit less, only the delicious fried rice stays the same Service was top notch as usual. The place could get a facelift given it’s fairly old, ventilation getting worn out so it could get extremely smelly while the place is packed with people ordering grills, and a little too dark for a family restaurant

Beautiful Yorkville. what happened Yamato? Obviously a great patio. I came for Lunch .The attendant was friendly but it took 40 mins to get my meal. My miso tasted like chicken noodle soup, it was still good but not miso. The photo , Teriyaki shrimp. The picture is exactly seconds after it was given to me, I didn't touch it. The picture speaks for itself . There was hardly anything on my plate. Food was served terribly, everything was very greasy. Like one mushroom, 4 pieces of zucchini the rest was onion. Very bizarre.

Note: The restaurant is separated into two areas - the sushi area and the teppanyaki area. Entrance is at the sushi area! We tried their teppanyaki. Food itself is tasty and fairly priced. Great spot if you are looking to dine with a bit of a culinary show by the chef! They will crack many jokes and gags along the way. Wonderful experience overall, would highly recommend for group gatherings. Seating was comfortable and decently spacious - bathrooms were also nice and private and decently clean. Will be back!

Great place to enjoy and experience teppanyaki. Service on point and the food was delicious. You really don't need the sauces as the food is already well seasoned. I would just get plain rice next time around and skip the $8 add on for fried rice.

I came in around 11:45am and felt like I was the only person in the restaurant! They sat me down in the corner of the regular part of the restaurant and a sea of people started coming in at lunch time and the restaurant was full. I ordered the shrimp teppanyaki lunch and it was delicious! Not too salty and just the right amount of food and very well priced for getting soup rice and veg with the shrimps. The service was really good too! Would love to come back to sit at the tables and try the sushi.
