Smashing IT! 🤘👨‍🍳🤘 Wok & Roast Chinese BBQ Restaurant is serving up some of Toronto's best pork, duck and chicken. There's a great selection and many options to tickle one's taste buds. Beyond succulent and tasty. Great customer service, and very helpful when you just can't make up your mind. The window display is by far my favorite! Love LOVE the food at Wok's!

If you wish to be treated respectfully, you are at the wrong place. They will not know how to be respectful or how to treat you with dignity. Food’s mediocre at best. Better off ordering from west China town

A truly hidden gem. I was visiting the city and was invited by a friend to come here. I was blown away how great of a place it is. Fantastic food at great prices. Super friendly staff and very attentive. Now I am looking for an excuse to return to the city as I be hot to get back to here.

I’ve been going here since I was a kid, moved away and came back. They’ve rebranded but it’s still the same great taste! Staff is always so nice and welcoming. Good BBQ meats and the only place you can find in the east end that has very reasonable pricing. The BBQ pork and roast Pork are really good here and the flavours are deep. I’ve tried other places in the area including the one beside this one but nothing quite beats this! 😋

Lady and the butcher is always so nice. The portions and prices is amazing, especially these days. Highly recommend the 2-meat combo, you'll get two meals out of it.

Review for Wok & Roast is based on in-person purchase directly at the restaurant. It looks like this place has mixed reviews so I can only share my opinion based on in-person purchasing for take out. If you like the Chinese bbq boxed meals, then Wok & Roast is a great option. Located at the heart of the Broadview Gerrard Chinatown, Wok & Roast has been around forever (it sure seems that way). Featured in the images are their boxed bbq meals (2 item with bbq pork and roast pork; bbq pork only) and come with garlic broccoli included. You will also be asked if you want sauce on your rice (we always say yes). The BBQ pork is always flavourful, not too salty with a touch of sweetness. The roasted pork consistently has crispy skin and again, flavourful without being too salty and has an essence of 5 spice powder. Now, depending on which section of pork you get, you may get fattier or leaner cuts. Be sure to identify what you want to the staff so they can get you what you want. You can ask for leaner or fattier. We opt for the leaner cuts. Just keep in mind, lean doesn't mean completely free of fat. Boxed bbq meals come in small or large. I find both very generous. Another thing we like to pick up at Wok & Roast is their fried chicken wings. Get a large box for around $10 and it's generous. Flavour isn't too salty with a hint of 5 spice. Some might find bland but for me, it does the trick and doesn't seem too oily which I like. If you're not into boxed bbq meals, they also have rice and noodle dishes along with other Chinese dishes that come straight from the kitchen. You can eat in, take out, or do delivery. Can't comment too much on these but like I said, if you want a generous bbq boxed meal, you can certainly give these a try. They are our go-to place for bbq when we're in the area.

Food was good, most of the items were delicious! The only thing that made me concerned about the service charge 13% on the bill was automatically added on. We only had two people for the table, but they charged 13% tips without a permit! I don’t know it is the new rules or the restaurant just made it up. However, I don't bother to ask since the old man server not really smile when servicing us.
