In order to get in one needs a membership which is $30 for the whole year. Menu is limited but their vegetarian laksa is so good. Whatever you order from the menu is $12 per item. Their teas are supposed to be well liked but I will try next time. It’s a very neat place and pretty busy. I had been wanting to visit this place for so long and am so glad I can tick it off my bucket list . Lots of parking in the temple grounds. Payment is only cash or debit card. Everyone working there has a smile and is extremely courteous . Hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 11 to 3:30 on temple event days they are closed. Do visit the place as it’s breathtaking and so much positive energy even in The small restaurant

One of my favorite spots. The laksa noodles are a must! Just a note, to purchase the food tickets to use at the restaurant you need a membership with the temple (~$30 for the year).

I’m not homeless. June 18/24- when I came in, they thought I was homeless and proceeded to interrogate me. I got the cold noodles that weren’t too bad and Jenny got curry noodles cause we just wanted to make a pit stop. The positive is it tasted good!

Hidden in Fo Guang temple is this tea house that has excellent vegetarian noodles. Love the sesame sauce cold noodles I ordered. It's uncomplicated and extremely tasty. The settings is clean and the service is wonderful. You do need membership ($30 annual fee) to dine there but you can bring non members in. After that everything on menu is $12 when this post is written.

I used to come here weekly with my family when 15 years ago and was always a favourite for everyone! Now the requirement of a membership is a bit of a turn off, nevertheless, the food hasn’t changed! Extremely delicious! My most favourite thing here is the fruit tea (無我茶)! I haven’t found anything remotely similar in taste! The price of the tickets have significantly increased from around 15 years at $3 each to now $10 each. The service was amazing and everyone working there are volunteers! I also ordered a noodles in soup and a ham and cheese panini which is my all time favourite there! The imitation meat they use is super delicious and are so similar to the real thing in both texture and taste that sometimes I question myself whether it’s real or not! I highly recommend trying this place out if you are curious!

WHAT TO TRY?! Their noodles here. They specialize in vegetarian food or imitation meat with their noodles. The laksa noodle and the imitation beef noodle are fan favorites. FYI, you need to have membership with the temple in order to get their vouchers though. You can try to ask on a regular day to see if you’re lucky but essentially the tea room doesn’t take cash. You buy your tickets at the counter when you come in and then you trade your ticket in for a bowl of noodle or a pot of tea or a sandwich combo, whatever you like. One ticket equals one item. My favorite is the laksa noodle. Has a bit of spicy kick to the laksa and it’s very creamy because of the coconut concentrate they use in their laksa mixture. The bowl has shredded lettuce, some imitation fish balls and squid balls and tofu. Very yummy! The imitation beef noodle is also yummy too. The pieces actually look like beef and the taste is great. One bowl is good for one person. The servers are very kind and willing to serve you. Mind you, they’re all volunteers here! So be polite too and reciprocate their service with kindness. That’s why they don’t like strangers coming into the tea house because they had rude customers come in and hence why they started making tea house exclusive to members only. If you wanna try this place out, maybe give some offerings to the temple or donate some money and they’ll give you a ticket! LAST TIP?! I urge to also try their orange or ginger tea. Made with fresh orange peels, the tea is sweet and delightful to have with your food.

Awesome Vegetarian food. Will keep coming back here. This is a hidden gem inside Buddhist temple. Food is delicious hygienic and organic. The best part is its all vegetarian. Everything is just one price and it's big serving. They have wide range of teas. you can go with a friend or alone and enjoy tea in a relatively quite and vibrant ambiance.
