Watan Kabob - Financial Drive

Ordered from here quite a bit. The past has always been hit or miss but this time takes the cake. Ordered lamb...they were burnt. The barg was over cooked, the chicken was over cooked, the kofta was chewy??? How do you even serve food like that....the salad was none existent

I want to share my experience to inform others about a potential health concern. On Monday, November 25, I ordered 10 saffron drumsticks from Watan Kabob. Unfortunately, the chicken was extremely dry, almost burned, and not enjoyable. My sons and I had this for dinner that evening, and the following day, all of us experienced diarrhea. Since this was the only food we ate for dinner, it seems likely that the chicken was the cause. It’s possible that the chicken was not fresh and had been reheated from the previous day. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience and will not be returning. I urge the management to ensure food safety and quality to prevent incidents like this from happening to others.

I tried watan kabob for first time and it was a total disappointment. We purchased 5 bolanis. They were not stuffed properly. They were flavourless and expensive. I won’t try again and won’t recommend

Food is good, atmosphere is worst. Bunch of clowns using phone so loud and disturbing other people like it’s just normal. Management is sleeping like owl, watched these clowns and left. People pay for dine in. It’s not a favour. There should be signs posted. Entire hall was gaming zone. Never going to order from this location. Kullu khalas.

I used to visit the other locations, first time at this one. Food used to taste better, still good tho not saying it’s bad, just not like before. Prices are great, atmosphere is nice, tables were clean and all looks good, didn’t take long to get the order ready, generally speaking it is considered one of the top Afghani restaurants. 3 stars cuz i tried to “modify” my order, but the guy said “he’s not allowed to make changes to a platter” and cuz it’s not as good as it was a year ago, NOT SAYING ITS BAD BUT OK. Mango juice is a must try, so refreshing.

Place is spacious, food was great! The service was a little slow when we came. I find the ordering setup a mix of fast food and dine in experience. You go to order and watch the screen if your order is ready for you to pickup and dine in. The packing is self service too. The food was good portion and was cooked nicely. The chicken was moist, the salad was fresh, the meat is bursting with flavor. They are open late so i’m happy to have this option for late dinners in the area.

I would be happy to write you a five-star review for Watan Kabob restaurant located on Financial Drive in Mississauga on Google Maps! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Watan Kabob and was blown away by the delicious food and exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The menu offered a wide range of authentic Afghan dishes, and I decided to try the lamb kabob plate, which was cooked to perfection and served with a generous portion of rice and salad. The flavors were bold and delicious, and I could tell that only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients were used. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed throughout my meal. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend Watan Kabob to anyone looking for delicious Afghan cuisine in Mississauga. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is exceptional. I will definitely be returning soon!

The inside of the restaurant is quit spacious! The front entrance also has seating areas while you wait if you are doing take out. They seating are comfortable there are some padded seat areas which is quite comfortable to sit on for dinner! ..:) The lighting was good and beautiful chandelier. The ambiance is is perfect for family with children not for a business or client dinner. There are no servers it’s self serve. Ordering: You order at the front of the restaurant and there are I think two or three order stations can’t remember exactly. The menu is display on screens similar to fast food restaurants displaying the dishes with pictures and pricing. There are no combos food does not come with drink that must be ordered separately in addition to. So ideally if you order a plate for $16 plus drink that takes you close to $20. You are given a receipt with an order number. If you are dining in there is a screen that display the order number and you would then go to collect your meal. For that price point I would say a good recommendation would be to have servers/employees check in with customers from time to time to see if there is anything else needed. This is very much like a McDonald’s fast food chain the way the ordering system is set up. Ideal for eating but not dining clients or survival occasions as there are no servers the ambiance would not be ideal. But for a family outing grabbing food then it’s great! Food: All the dishes were prepared exactly as appeared in the picture. And large size portions. Served with free tea upon request or water. Ambiance: The lighting was good and no loud music, which was great. Lots of people moving around with kids as there are no servers so customers can be seen getting up to grab food which makes it a bit noisy and busy. Service and Time: Staff present well was clean and tidy dressed, no long dirty nails, their hair well kept, and their clothing tidy. Food was ready in a timely manner I would consider going again at some point -Mini
