Vietnam Noodle Star is hands down the best spot for Laksa seafood in town! The broth is rich and full of flavor, absolutely perfect for warming up on a cold winter night. Their Roti is a must-try—pairs perfectly with the Laksa. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving comforting, delicious food!

We visited late Friday afternoon and surprisingly it wasn't very busy. The soup wasn't as hot as I would like it to be, but they pack in the rice noodles. I could barely finish the small bowl of pho. The Vietnamese fried rice is a winner. The curries come with either roti or rice or garlic bread. The curry this time around wasn't as tasty as I had expected. Too much spice overwhelmed the curry flavour. The roti was fresh although slightly undercooked. Service was quite fast. As others have mentioned, the staff here demand their tips and that can create an unpleasant interaction. They also charge 25c for debit transactions. This place is good for a quick bite if you don't expect a high level of customer service.

Vietnam Noodle Star has been around for ages. Located in a plaza with other eateries. There’s free parking but during peak periods it would be hard to find parking because there’s also a medical building sharing the same parking lot. We like the fact you can select how many items and which items to come with your Pho Noodles soup and Vermicelli dish and white rice dish. Usually in other Vietnamese eateries, your choice is limited. We noticed they packed in the carbs which we appreciate. If you don’t like Rare Beef, let your Server know during the time they take your order. They will take care of it for you. It’s actually an option to select as written on their printed menu either raw beef or cooked beef. We visited at night when it wasn’t so busy, but somehow our Server served us our meal without their complimentary garnishes like bean sprouts, lime and mint leaves. We thought it was odd as usually it arrives at the same time and asked for it. This eatery has a large floor space so they have round tables to cater to larger groups of people. They only accept debit or cash.

Recently, I had a terrible experience at a Vietnamese/Thai fusion restaurant that left us disappointed in both food quality and service. We ordered a variety of dishes, but things went downhill quickly. The pad thai was practically inedible—it tasted like ketchup-covered noodles, and we could barely take two bites. The pho was also disappointing, with a noodle-to-broth ratio that was completely off. The beef remained bloody in the broth since there wasn’t enough liquid to cook it properly. We also ordered fish cakes and beef ribs as side dishes, but both tasted off, and we couldn’t finish them either. We understood we had ordered a lot of food, so we politely asked the waitress to take the pad thai off the bill since it was barely touched. Her response? “It’s already been cooked,” followed by her walking away. After that, we noticed the staff became noticeably louder and started talking about our table in their language, which made us feel uncomfortable. Throughout our meal, no one came to check if the food was okay, even though it was obvious most of it had been left untouched. When we finally asked for the bill, it took much longer than necessary, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. They didn’t ask if we wanted to split the bill, so we ended up e-transferring money to the person who paid just to simplify things. As we were leaving, an employee ran up to us and cut us off, demanding to know why we hadn’t left a tip. When we explained it was due to the poor food and service, she began speaking to other workers in their language again. Overall, I would never return to this restaurant. The atmosphere was decent, but the poor food quality and unprofessional staff ruined the experience.

When down in Toronto, this is one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurants to frequent as they do great Malaysian green and yellow curries, and my wife can find her favorite Laksa, spicy, coconut noodle soup here. So invariably, that is what we ordered along with some samosas as an appetizer. Laksa was excellent, and the beautiful warming sensation of the chicken and potatoes in the curry was super enjoyable. The samosa was a little disappointing both in that they were fairly bland and 5 for $9.99 was not in any way value for money considering, especially the size and the fact they were a very mediocre. Still, overall, a pleasant dining experience, very diverse menu, restaraunt is very clean and fresh

This used to be my mom’s favorite pho place. Honestly prices has gone up which is normal but the quality has gone down. Pho came out warm and not hot. Quality of the noodles just don’t taste the same as they did before. However, there is still a decent amount of meat. I think their pineapple fried rice is pretty good. It’s cool that they use half a pineapple as the plate.

Haven’t been here for a long time and we decided to try different things. Very disappointed with the food! Especially the meats. When we ordered, they already recommended to avoid beef as it’s usually tough to chew. Skewers had no taste and we can’t differentiate between chicken or pork! The peanut sauce was also bland and nothing close to satay sauce. Beef slices in the fried noodles were humongous and unable to chew, even in small portions. They had to change it to shredded chicken. But the spicy flavour and noodles were good. The seafood laksa soup noodles had mostly the fake crab meat and squid, the 2 shrimps were not fresh, only the noodles and mussels were okay and the Laksa soup base was tasty. The dessert was good and the service was great and attentive that deserves two stars. It’s a mystery that it’s still around!

I recently visited this restaurant with four friends for lunch, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the main points of concern: 1. Noodle Quality: We ordered what was described as “thin noodles,” but they were more akin to Hong Kong-style ho fun noodles. The texture was thick and the flavor was quite bland, not at all what we were expecting or hoping for from a Vietnamese dish. 2. Service: The service was particularly disappointing. No one attended to our table during the meal to check if we needed anything. Additionally, when it came time to pay, we experienced significant issues: • There was no initial inquiry about whether we wanted to split the bill. • When we approached the counter to pay individually, the staff became visibly upset, insisting that we should have informed them earlier. This created an uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. • One of my friends had a particularly unpleasant encounter when she paid her $18 bill with a $20 note. The staff demanded a larger tip, which felt very unprofessional and aggressive. Given these issues, I would not recommend this place. There are many other places where you can find better food and service without the added stress and discomfort we experienced. I hope the restaurant management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements.
