I had the pleasure of dining here and tried the Soya Malai Chaap and Chicken Dum Biryani — hands down the best I’ve had in the entire Durham region! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous. Our server, Shaurya, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable.

Arguably the best Indian food in Whitby. This is a new restaurant and they are making a big impact on the local food scene. Thrilled to have really great authentic Indian food in the neighbourhood. There are quite a few Indian restaurants in town but this one may just take the win. Great service, nice ambiance, super friendly staff and above all delicious authentic Indian Cuisine. Let’s show them some love. Try Via Delhi- you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing. There are now a lot of Indian restaurants in Whitby and this is comfortably the best of them. My wife and I visited very recently and were really impressed with all the food we ordered. In particular their Onion Bhajis were easily the best we’ve had in Canada. A bold claim, but they were fantastic! Their curries were also excellent. Truly fantastic. We will visit again soon and really hope it lives up to this first experience!

Tried Via Delhi for the first time and I liked the food. Placed a delivery order for Chana Masala, Mixed Vegetable & Dal Tadka. The Dal Tadka was excellent and perfectly made. Loved the authentic taste. The Mixed Veg was also nicely cooked and looked appetizing. However, it tasted slightly sweet and the carrots in it were from the frozen veggies packet and not freshly cut. Had it included a few cubes of paneer (cottage cheese), it would have been even better as normally the mixed veg dish does include paneer to enhance the dish’s look and taste. The Chana Masala didn’t taste as I expected. It wasn’t the Delhi style Chana Masala that I’ve had for years and lacked the typical flavours. It should have had some more spices in it. Overall, my experience was good and I would definitely try other vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes from this restaurant the next time.

Heads up.. it will be a long post! I've been wanting to post this for a while but having had inconsistent experiences from other establishments held me back so I decided that I'm going to give any new restaurant 3 chances for consistency in food quality and taste before I actually send fellow foodies their way. I'm happy to share that this review is well deserved for Via Delhi , the newest underdog in authentic Indian cuisine that has completely wowed my palette! TRY #1: We decided to order via Uber after an exhausting day at work where we just wanted some comfort food. We ordered the tandoori platter (boneless chicken cubes, seekh kabab and tandoori shrimp), Rara gosht (boneless chunks of meat and minced meat) and lamb biryani. I took a bite of the rara gosh and couldn't believe I was tasting this deliciousness in Canada. Last time I remember eating flavors this authentic was in India. I decided not to get too excited and mentally made a note to give them another shot when we dine in. The tandoori items were delicious and definitely one of my favorites. The biryani was alright, your typical Indian biryani full of flavor, however not the best I've had over the years. TRY #2: We decided to dine in with the kiddos one evening around 5:30 pm and noticed the place was empty. Always a nervous feeling but decided to give it the benefit of doubt that it's a new restaurant and way too early for many folks. We ordered tandoori chicken, Rogan Josh and mild butter chicken for the kids. Word of caution here that even their base sauce has spice so if you cannot tolerate ANY spice, I wouldn't get the butter chicken as it was NOT mild and my kiddos struggled to eat it. However it definitely tasted delicious and one of the better butter chickens out there ( John Higo another one on your list to try 😉). The tandoori chicken is the one item I would NOT recommend here. As with many restaurants, this item is pre-cooked, and then over sprinkled with chaat masala, with no actual tandoori flavor so it tasted stale and dry. If you feel like eating BBQ/tandoori items, get the boneless ones as they are made fresh. However here comes redemption! One bite of the Rogan Josh yet again transported me mentally to India and I couldn't stop eating it, which was such a pleasant surprise! We left very content that the food had flavors authentic to what we knew in India and decided we will definitely give them another try. TRY #3: Yesterday hubby was craving Indian food and I suggested we try his favorite item, bhuna gosht from Via Delhi. We also ordered a chicken biryani with it. The chicken biryani was ok and if I had to order biryani next time, I'd probably stick to the lamb biryani instead as chicken just didn't hit the spot. However, I honestly, I cannot decide which of the 3 curries I've tried so far are my #1, because they've all been delicious but based on the most recent experience, I'd say bhuna gosht is the winner. Yes I'm going to repeat myself but I swear this is not an exaggeration when I say that one bite of the bhuna took me down nostalgia lane and in that moment, I was just so thankful that I've found a place with authentic Indian flavors I've been craving for a really long time, in our own backyard AND that exceeds Chulha and Balti (which is huge for me!). Trust me when I say that Via Delhi has the most authentic Indian flavors you'd find in Mumbai & Delhi.

Excellent food - never have I ever had such amazing paneer masala ever in whole of GTA. Perfect amount of spices, tanginess and taste. My murgh malayi tikka was awesome. Amazing service - Shaurya was awesome and very friendly. In fact when we entered some other server could not entertain us since he was busy taking to other patrons, he came and apologized !! Shaurya made us feel very comfortable and served us well. Clean and very nice restaurant. Highly recommend it. I guess we will come back again now.

This is a new restaurant in Whitby. Just stumbled upon this when I was searching for an Indian restaurant and to my surprise I never noticed this here where there are few other restaurants near by. I ordered Dum Biryani and Steamed Momos and liked both of them. It was a take out so guessing dine in will be more tasty 😋 Ambiance is good. Staff are good as well. All the best guys ....
