The food here is delicious. Each of us ordered a pasta dish. My 8 year old daughter almost finished a whole pasta dish on her own. My wife ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and it appears they make it fresh. She enjoyed it as it wasn’t too sweet. The restaurant accepts American Express so that is nice. We may come back if we’re in the neighbourhood and feeling like pasta again.

We had a team lunch here with a group of 8. Overall the food was good, but the service was poor and everything was extremely slow. The waiter was nice but first he missed placing one soup, then he missed another main dish. We had to remind him for more than 5 times for the dish. We felt very bad for that colleague as this was her farewell lunch. She had to watch us eating until everyone finished. The waiter said he would not charge us for that dish. However, when we were paying the bill, they first charged all items and some even with dinner prices (with higher prices). Not sure if they were doing this on purpose, but luckily we checked the bill. When I talked to an elder guy (cashier?), he said the waiter made the mistake of missing items, we can’t give that dish free. The attitude was really bad, and acted the waiter had nothing to do with the restaurant. This is ridiculous. My colleague also said she can see people arguing in the kitchen all the time. Another colleague said the restaurant staff are totally different compared to pre-pandemic time. Probably the restaurant has changed owner. This was really a terrible experience. We will not visit this restaurant ever again.

We went for the $35 summerlicious dinner and got the beet salad, mussels, lamb chop, steak, lava cake, and chocolate raspberry tartufo. It was pretty good overall! The beet salad was disappointing as there wasn't much cheese and we would've liked more beet, so we feel it wasn't worth it. The mussels were very good though. The steak was too peppery and the mashed potatoes were thin, almost watery. The lamb chop was very tender but we didn't like the sauce because it tasted sort of ketchup-like. We really liked the desserts! The lava cake was soft and the vanilla ice cream had a potent vanilla flavour we enjoyed. However, it wasn't really a lava cake because we didn't find any melty chocolate in the centre. The tartufo was also decadent! The restaurant was also small and only one server was working, so since we asked for more time to think about our order the server got busy with other customers. Overall, a rather commendable dining experience.

Awesome experience at Valens for dinner - got the Summerlicious pre fixe menu. Ordered muscles to start, the lamb shank and tiramisu for dessert. The muscles in particular were outstanding - some of the best I've had ever. The lamb shank was delicious and the tirimisu was nice as well. An absolute steal for $35 - a must try in the area. Lovely staff and decor as well!

I made a lunch reservation for 3 people at their website one week prior which was also confirmed by the restaurant. When we got there on the day of our lunch, they said they don't have my name on their list so I showed them my email confirmation. But since they're busy and don't have any available seat, we were given the table at the back close by the kitchen. We were already famished and not fuzzy so we accepted the seat given to us even though we know this is the worst table - heavily trafficked area aka the 'waiter station'. First time dining here and we ordered from their Summerlicious lunch menu which was $27 for 3 course meal. Started with the soup of the day - Wild Mushroom and Caesar Salad for our appetizers. The Wild Mushroom soup was delicious, with a wonderful earthiness and smooth creaminess you would expect in a mushroom soup. The salad is just your basic Caesar salad and tasted just right. The entrees are the star of the show. Everything we ordered from the Pan Seared Chicken, Grilled Strip Loin Steak and Grilled Atlantic Salmon Fillet were so tender and juicy. But there is one caveat though - portions are on the smaller side. The desserts are the opposite when it comes to portion sizes. They give you massive servings! The Creme Brûlée was as big as a dinner plate. I'm not really fond of the Tiramisu as I had better ones. The Cheesecake with strawberry sauce was creamy and light. Overall dining here was not bad, service was okay. The dealbreaker were the messed up online reservation and entree's smaller portion sizes. Not sure if we are coming back because of this.

Came here with a couple of my friends during dinnertime on a Sunday. The restaurant was a bit small but all the tables were seated with people. One of my friends ordered the Mozzarella cheese sticks. We were surprised and quite disappointed with the portion of the Mozzarella cheese sticks compared to the amount of vegetables that was served. We all had high expectations for this appetizer because of the price. However, my friend did like the fact that the Mozzarella cheese sticks were filled with cheese. I ordered the Pesto (pasta). The texture of the pasta fitted to my taste as it wasn't overcooked or undercooked. However, the portion did not match the price. In comparison with other restaurants, I typically feel full after eating a plate of pasta but at this restaurant, I only felt partially full.
