I’m a regular customer and love the place! The variety of food keeps me coming, and so does the quality of their chicken wrap & salmon (my favourites)! The desserts are great, as much as the service. Plus, I like that they have very good non alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend it :)

UPDATE: Dear Kevin, Thank you for reaching out regarding your expectations for a review. I would like to clarify that leaving a review, whether positive or negative, is entirely based on a customer's willingness and personal experience, not an obligation. While I appreciate being a returning customer, my experience this time was only satisfactory, which is why I did not feel compelled to leave a positive review. I would also suggest reviewing the feedback you’ve already received from other customers, as it may provide insights into recurring issues that could benefit from your attention. Addressing these concerns proactively could help avoid potential complications with authorities like CFIA. Finally, small details, such as providing the correct utensils for dessert, do matter. While it may seem minor, such gaps highlight opportunities for improved staff training, which ultimately enhances the overall customer experience. Best regards! We recently visited Town Crier for lunch, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The fried food—specifically the schnitzel and french fries—had a very bad taste, as if the oil used for cooking was old and overused. It was difficult to enjoy the meal. To add to the disappointment, when we ordered dessert, they served a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon, which made it quite awkward to eat. This used to be one of our favorite spots, but based on this experience, I’m not sure we’ll be returning anytime soon. I hope the quality improves, as it’s sad to see a once-loved place lose its charm.

The food is excellent, and a great beer list. A great German spot for a traditional European dinner. I ordered the gravy schnitzel and currywurst. The sauce was great, and the sausage and schnitzel were fresh and crispy. Will be back!

Not the most welcoming start .. 10 mins + before a server arrived ?? Beer was great .. Food was a real miss 👎 The schnitzel (meat) was still red and the breading tasted like old oil (time to change the deep fryers) .. The chef disagreed and said it was fine .. I’ve eaten 1000’s of schnitzel’s in more than 25 countries (my personal favourite dish) and this is the first one I have sent back to the kitchen. Our server tried his best, but I would not recommend this place as there is so much better in Toronto !! Stay clear !!

I recently visited town crier Pub in Toronto and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was lively, and the service was outstanding. I was particularly impressed by Lauren, the Irish bartender. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and got our order right away. Her warm hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a great spot to grab a drink with excellent service, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The place was packed right around dinner time and cleared out pretty quickly in a little over an hour. Service was alright, and the seats were a bit uncomfortable. My friend had the lamb shank, portion and taste was decent, my other friend ordered the beef wellington, the beef was overcooked, and the pastry was soggy. I had their steak sandwich, and it was good, and the fries were nice and fresh!

My friend and I visited TownClear a few nights ago. We ordered a variety of salads and a bottle of wine. While the food was acceptable, the salads didn't stand out in terms of freshness or flavor. The atmosphere was somewhat lacking in friendliness, making the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. The service was decent, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was an okay experience.

I feel like I give out 5 stars top easily but in this case it's well deserved. Here's why: It's a German/Belgian pub, so similar to English and Irish but different enough to be fun. They have a lot of Munich beer including Hofbrauhaus on tap! They have a big patio right on the street and is in a nice old row house building so lots of character. Inside was surprisingly cozy and upscale. We stopped for a patio drink but stayed for dinner because it was so nice inside. Food was incredibly tasty. Had roast beef, Belgian Onion soup, and Schnitzel. Just like in Munich! Prices were on par with Toronto restaurants. Service was 10 out of 10. Waitress was super nice, speedy, and even put a candle in a dessert when she overheard it was my daughter's birthday. Definitely going back again.
