The Vault Gastropub

What a great find! The friendly co-owner helped us to a quiet table inside the actual vault with kitsch penny tiled floors. We enjoyed friendly and authentic hospitality and better yet, good food! We tried the fish tacos, naan sandwich, and vault BLT and literally enjoyed every bite! We appreciated that you could have salad instead of fries with the meals too. We will 100% put this on our Whitby favorites list.

Cool restaurant and design concept with the vaults inside. Service was great, food was fantastic- server enthusiastically recommended the fish and chips (which got me to change my mind between two other items I was considering) and they were spot on with that recommendation - crispy, flavourful fish, and fries that were clearly prepared in house and not dumped from a frozen bag. Everyone in our group of 6 loved their various meals. Reasonably priced. Good beer selection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We stumbled across this place as we were looking for somewhere to grab a bite while driving through Whitby and was pleasantly surprised. It looks a bit dark from the outside, but it was clean and vright with a good atmosphere. Our server was friendly and accommodating and the food was really good! We will be back

Staff was great. Food was great. There's two vaults turned into dining rooms for 2 or 6 people. Parking can be a trick but worth it. Arcade next door for anyone who wants some fun after dinner.

Attended with a large party. Amazing welcome, friendly server. Food all came out in time for everyone to eat together. Range of foods had within the party, highly recommend the wings, absolutely to die for. Big thank you for the experience and and hospitality. We loved it

The veggie burger and beet salad was unique and perfect, as was the NA beer they served. The salmon and potato croquettes looked really good too. The service was fast and friendly. And the music was good enough for us to discuss it while eating. But it wasn't too loud for us to have private conversations (music volume is a failing of too many places nowadays). I'll definitely go back any time I'm in the area. Five stars across the board. ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I don’t often get hamburgers at restaurants, but was I ever glad I did this time. It tasted even better than it looked. I liked the multitude of options to pick from for your sides. Especially as I was trying to decide between the burger and salad and then discovered I could have the best of both worlds together. The appetizer we had was the only thing I was disappointed by. I wouldn’t say it tasted bad, but the texture wasn’t pleasant. I loved the vault rooms at the back. Such a cool little dining space and nice and quiet if you want to be able to chat without all of the noise of the main dining room. Great cocktail menu as well. I’ll definitely go back again one day. Edit: Tried to go back for lunch on a Friday, but after waiting 5 minutes without receiving menus and not seeing a single server other than the bartender the whole time we had to bail as my hubby was on his lunch break from work and we had a time limit and it was obvious we wouldn’t be getting out of there in under an hour. So disappointed because the burger special that week sounded right up my alley.
