A local fav eatery however my friend and I simply wanted a coffee and scone We decided that buying 6 was better buy and asked to take out the one scone we were eating. It seemed to be a big deal.. so we had our snack. Atmosphere seemed cool and when we left our tip for our waitress we emphasized who that was and when we left it simply was thrown into the tip cup at the till not sure if it goes where we wanted. And that was with attitude Finally there's alot of places to eat so I hope improvements are made and better attitudes in staff

This was a pleasant surprise that we found while visiting Bowmanville. We were looking for a place to have lunch and stopped in at The Toasted Walnut. The menu is full of fantastic options and good prices. We had the Afternoon Tea for two and it was excellent. The staff are lovely and the restaurant is cute. We are already planning our next visit!

Went there with my kids for coffee and pastries. Service was excellent, as were the cupcakes. I appreciate they had a gluten free items (delicious) and they were kept separately in a different display case and also individually wrapped.

It was our first visit there. Foods great, service great, atmosphere great. The only issue was despite telling we are vegetarian they serve and feed us loaded Potato soup which had bacon. They should educate their staff on ingredients. I don’t think I appreciate that. Server did apologize and I believe her that it was genuine mistake on her part. I hope they improve and educate staff on recipe and ingredients.

Nice, tidy cafe with clean washrooms. The quiche was nice and included a fresh scone. Street parking was available but a public lot is located across the street. They offer lots of seating but during winter, the tables near the door can be breezy.

I want to give the team at The Toasted Walnut a huge shout out!!! 🙌✨💗 Yesterday I ordered a large assortment of their yummy scones & savory danishes for early this morning and they did not disappoint. They had it all packed and ready to go and they even helped me take it to my car. Needless to say, these goodies were a hit at work and those danishes were first to disappear. If you ever need to order goodies for the office or a party, be sure to contact them! Thank you so much! I hope you have a happy Holiday Season!!

If you are looking for the best croissants (cheese and butter) in Bowmanville, you can get them at The Toasted Walnut. They are so fresh and flaky that they beat any coffee chain offering. They offer a variety of scones and sweets that makes it hard not to walk out with everything. Make sure to stop in and treat yourself while supporting this local shop.
