A real gem of a place. If you really love coffee, or want a small intimate place that's intentionally geared for chatting & connecting (not laptop coworking) visit & enjoy. Sean has a clear vision and is expertly executing on it. One of my favourite places I've been since coming to the west end after decades in the east

Best coffee in Toronto. I don’t make the rules 🤷🏻♀️ This isn’t a coffee shop as much as it is an authentic cultural experience. We moved recently into the neighbourhood and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to check out a place so highly rated. The day that we first visited, the water main was shut off in the area and the owner had adapted his services to some very cool machinery (handmade) from Italy. It’s so refreshing to interact with someone who genuinely loves what they do and isn’t just in it for the money. You can tell he really respects what he does and that’s something that I rarely encounter. Our favourite thing to do is take our coffee loving friends here because it’s truly a revolutionary experience - not just for the palate but the conversation ✌🏼

I’m a tea drinker and will have an occasional espresso, but not today. So I stopped in at The Stockyards Grind Espresso Bar for a decaf tea and ended up with a delicious Harney & Sons Cinnamon served in an antique cup and spoon like I have at home from my Grandmother’s Antique Store in Kingston - Allie’s Antiques. Good vibes were playing from the Marshall sound box. No laptops allowed ie. “No Camping”. It’s about connection - connecting with the space, the antiques, the music and the coffee bean. Everything is high quality down to the 7 different types of beans you can choose from medium-light to medium and dark from Brazil, Nicaragua, Honduras, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Colombia. Sean is the owner and host aka barista but he’s way more than that. His knowledge is unbelievable and will help you choose your bean. After we started talking I changed my mind and couldn’t pass up an espresso. I had a Brazilian Sucuri Bean and learned how to take the right number of sips and what to do with it in my mouth. You’ll need to visit to learn yourself 😀 from Sean. We sat and chilled on the patio beside his garden. There is a small food menu but it’s really about connecting as mentioned above. Sean takes cash and debit. Nice place to unplug, relax and unwind. I’ll definitely be back. Chris>

My friend and I went out of our way during errands to check out this spot and I feel transported to an easy breezy relaxing atmosphere I don’t get in the city much! I ordered the Protein Shake Mocha so now I feel when we get our groceries and lug our little granny cart around I will feel jacked! And my friend got a handmade chocolate milk (an off menu deluxe item? or was the barista super nice and accommodating? Either way, very appreciated!) The wait is longer than fast food places because this isn’t a fast food place! Food is made to order with care and it feels more like the food you get when visiting a friend (who really knows how to cook and knows everything about coffee). As other reviews say, this really feels like a gem in the city!

Five star coffee at this hidden neighborhood gem! It's an education in global beans and various styles of coffee. Sean the owner knows his stuff and has an infectious passion for all things coffee. I've loved the friendly local vibe and community comraderie that gets your day or weekend of to the best start! Warning - It's been the best kind of craving causing addiction to cultivate!

Great coffee and pastries. You get to choose your blend before the coffee is made. There’s a side patio and if the weather permits chairs outside. The inside is also quite cool and has a character. Nice find! Give it a try!

It is such an amazing cafe. I tasted a cortado for the first time, which was fantastic and became my favorite. The owner explained coffee really well. The atmosphere is so cozy and hip. Highly recommend.

Such a pretty, quaint and cozy cafe in the stockyards district of Toronto. The coffee is amazing and the owner is the nicest ever. This is the reason I love supporting local businesses. Went there today when it was -20 outside and didn’t regret it. Tried the dark roast Zimbabwe and Guatemala beans. They have all kinds of beans though. It was my first time here and will definitely keep going back. Just one thing to keep in mind- they only accept debit or cash. They can customize your drink based on your preference which was a plus. Thanks stockyards grind for an amazing experience.
