We got the Beef Tehari and Bhortha with Beef curry. It was really yummy. Our first time trying Bangladeshi food. Would definitely recommend it to friends.

Looking for good Bangladeshi food, I was grateful to be guided to The Spicy Grill on the eastern edge of the Danforth in Scarborough. I ordered the Mutton (Lamb) Rezala with Pulao and was impressed by the richness of the flavour, the strength of the spices, and the abundance of the rice offered. The service was friendly and genuine. The restaurant was shining, clean and well-arranged. This being my first experience with Bangladeshi cuisine, I was glad to have heeded the advice I was given, and to discover the taste of The Spicy Grill.

“I often visit Spicy Grill, and I’m always impressed by the freshness and flavor of their food. I’ve tried many items on the menu, but this time I decided to capture the experience! Enjoyed delicious Khichuri, beef bhuri, and beef tehari at 2 am, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic, tasty dishes at any hour!”

Recommended by a friend and it is a small restaurant. The food quality is good. They have most of the item cooked and stay on a warmer. I ordered the chicken polao and thr rice is flavorful.

The Spicy Grill is my trusted go to eatery when in Toronto. Always wholesome to see the hefty serving of the deshi scrumptious delights reminding me of home. The only thing is, you’ll get confused about what to order since there’s everything from Bhorta, Bhaji, Rich Curries to Tehari & the best Kacchi ever as well!

I recently had beef tehari, and it was incredibly flavorful! The rice was soft and aromatic, with just the right blend of spices to give it a rich, warm taste. The beef was cooked to perfection—tender and juicy, with each piece soaking up all the spices beautifully. It was a perfectly balanced dish. The Spicy Grill is always my #1 recommendation for food! :)

Advice for customers who order for Pickups!!! I had beef tehari at the restaurant. It was amazing. The price was $14 plus tax which was alright in the current market. I was really happy so next day I went there again to place the order for 2 beef tehari to go. I don’t live in GTA, I came home after 5 hours drive, open the box; I was amazed to see the Beef tehari without BEEF. In both boxes combined there were small 6 pieces in total; but yes bones were there just to make you feel good. Just look at the picture of the beef tehari I had in the restaurant. In To Do order the portions reduced so as the beef. Such a shameful experience. You lost the trust from a foodie person like me; even if I come to have food there, I will never order for pickup there for sure.

I had the most horrendous experience at Spicy Grill a couple of weeks ago. After seeing so many rave reviews on Facebook, I thought, why not give it a try? Big mistake. I was craving biryani, and my wife suggested Spicy Grill because of all the "good" reviews. Now, it seems those reviews must be paid or fake. I ordered the chicken biryani and kacchi biryani, expecting a burst of authentic flavors. Instead, what I got was a greasy mess. The mutton biryani was swimming in oil, and all I could taste was clarified butter—absolutely nothing else! The rice was bland, and the mutton? It was as if someone boiled it and threw it in oil. Tasteless and disgusting. And here's the kicker—the kacchi biryani cost $29! Why on earth would someone pay so much for such horrible food? It was just a waste of money. The chicken biryani was no different. It tasted like boiled chicken dumped in buttered rice. No flavor, no spice, nothing. It was a complete disaster. I am utterly disappointed and infuriated. Spicy Grill was a total letdown, and I will never set foot in that place again. If you're thinking about trying it, save yourself the disappointment and avoid it at all costs. I should have saved the money and let my wife cook—she's a far better cook than whoever is in the kitchen at that place. This place is a culinary nightmare.
