We visited this establishment for the first time over the past weekend (December 20th) to celebrate a birthday, but instead of a joyful celebration, we were met with an absolutely awful experience: severe food poisoning. That night, I ordered the salmon bowl, and my partner opted for their winter special Cajun steak. While the flavors seemed fine at the time, the nightmare began the very next day. Both of us became violently ill, suffering from relentless abdominal cramps, persistent vomiting, and uncontrollable diarrhea. For the past four days, we’ve barely been able to function, let alone eat anything, without it either coming back up or passing through us in liquid form. The severity of this food poisoning has not only ruined our weekend but also robbed us of the ability to fully enjoy our Christmas gatherings or even partake in our family Christmas dinner. We urge the management to take food safety and handling with the utmost seriousness to ensure that no one else has to endure this kind of suffering. It’s deeply disappointing to have spent a significant amount of money on a meal that left us so sick. While our server was kind, and the arcade games were enjoyable (the Racing Simulator was a favorite), these small positives do not come close to making up for the horrifying aftermath of our meal. We hope the restaurant takes immediate action to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

This is a great place to go for fun with family, friends, coworkers and much more. Lots of video games, skeet ball, b ball, air hockey and much more. The bar area is large and serves a slew of brews on tap. Food is average and nothing to write home about it but it’s decent and reasonably priced.

We made reservations ahead of time so we'd have a place to getting some snacks after the Taylor Swift concert. We were seated quickly but it took at least 15 minutes before anyone came by to take our order. I had asked another easier waking by and he had a poor attitude. He said "you are not my table but will get out waiter", which he either didn't or our waiter actually took forever to get to our table. It took forever to get a glass of water and while we saw other tables get bag(s) of popcorn while they waited for their food, we got nothing. The food was generic and mediocre at best. For a kitchen full of chefs, nachos and poutine should not haven't taken as long as it did. For an event night, you'd think the wait staff would provide their A game and to get some good tips from happy patrons. I can't imagine what service would be like on an average day. Very disappointed. Would not recommend. *there are lots of arcade games on site

The rec room is a unique entertainment venue. It has a restaurant, bar, lots of video games, simulation games and VR games. Located in the heart of Toronto it is a great venue to bring the family before a game or event. They also have a nice patio in the summertime. Food here is not too overly priced for a downtown tourist spot. And they have a nice selection of food on their menu. They also have a crazy big event space in the back for bigger events if you want a private space. Or smaller private rooms. This place is an ideal restaurant for families and kids or for a nice game centric date night.

It's a great place to be. You can play countless games, have food and have fun with friends. There are various arcade games and others like foosball, car racing, mario, win the jackpot, double power games, ninja turtles, etc. You can also redeem tickets if you win by playing certain games. You can get this, chocolate, nugs and other merchandise based on the tickets you have and the actual ticket price of these items. Good shunt if hit food items like pizza, pasta, etc and they also have drinks. So all in all a good place to be if you are looking to have fun in downtown Toronto.

We checked out this place after baseball game. Such a fun place with varieties of shooting games, car racing, retro arcades and even photo booth! Great service at the bar. Great selections of beer. My Flying monkeys Space Invader was tasty! Surprisingly pizza was not bad either.

Ok, this is the THIRD time I’ve had a great meal here I’m going to take the roasting for liking this insufferable tourist trap - for fellow PARENTS. My sibling lives in the city and our kids love the Aquarium. So we end up here a couple times a year ( and we try to use time off ) on a weekday so it’s slow. BUT the food at the Aquarium (sorry y’all, it was in the newspaper you messed this up) is not food for anyone except kids under 16. All good, got the Rec Room across the street. The food is subsidized by the video games - we had a $10 kids meal that came with a salad, a personal pizza AND Tiny donuts with jam (AnD and a drink?). I always have a nice fish and chips or burger…..and the APP? MOVIE popcorn 🍿- salty goodness. Of course great for kids, stroller friendly, accessible. And for a tourist spot the staff in the restaurant are a delight.

My experience at The Rec Room was an overall great experience. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the place was packed, which added to the excitement. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club, which was tasty. The fries were lukewarm, but the sandwich itself was enjoyable and arrived quickly despite the busy crowd. My friend had the same experience with his meal and was satisfied as well. We sat at the bar, and the customer service was excellent. The staff frequently checked on us, ensuring we had everything we needed, which made our visit even better. Given the quick service, pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff, I’ll definitely be coming back to The Rec Room.
