The Purple Pear

Let me say that this is truly a hidden gem in Hamilton on Barton….Vic is truly the host with the most. I took out my office and field crew team out for a Christmas party….everyone raved about the food and service….Best rib steak, cooked to perfection, the vegetable side was the most fresh, like outta of the backyard garden fresh I have ever experienced…and their signature pear shaped potato croquette was a treat. The fresh bread and baked scones never stopped coming to the table…I will definitely make this my go to for steak night out in the future.

Went to the Purple Pear for a family birthday celebration and were happy we decided to go to this cozy, old school, cozy restaurant. We had been here before and we're always happy with the experience and we're not disappointed on this occasion. As always the staff was inviting and attentive and a special thank you to our server who was kind and patient with my elderly mother who was having difficulty choosing a dinner. The owner, Victor was friendly and helpful as always as he made his way around to each and every table making all of his patrons feel welcomed. The food was outstanding, steaks cooked to perfection and served with interesting and delicious sides. It was a perfectly timed dinner with no one hurrying things along as we find happens in many other restaurants. This made our experience even more enjoyable as we able to enjoy good food and conversation without feeling rushed. All together a great dinner at a great price ... thank you Victor and Debby of the Purple Pear for having us over for dinner !!

Had a night out with work associates. We tried most, if not all the appetizers and were quite happy with them. Great service, the decor and lighting could use a little updating but a very nice evening nonetheless.

Its a classic. Like time stood still. Everything retro, the staff attentive and the food delicious. A great place to meet with a group or two people sitting in a cozy atmosphere by candlelight.

A date night to remember <3 As we stepped foot into this Hamilton gem, we were immediately transported back to a classy evening out in 1994. From the velvet curtains, and mirrored walls to the stained-glass signage, every detail has been appreciated and cared for over the years, as are its patrons. Service was thoughtful and well-paced. Food was hot and delicious! Not to mention, the prices fair! Regardless of the place hosting a few larger parties, the energy still felt intimate and cozy. I really hope this place sticks around for years to come. Its places like these that age like fine wine ♥️

What a delicious meal. Had bacon wrapped steak medallion with white wine shrimp wow mmmm the sides were not only delicious but such beautiful presentation. Great service and a nice laid back comfortable atmosphere while having some phenomenal food. Definitely coming back

Wow what a spot! Everything we ordered was out of this world, all seafood cooked with the love of tenderness. The steak was seared and seasoned to perfection, the fresh baked buns. This experience was definitely my favourite dining spot to date. I also love the space as it’s brings me back to better time. The right touches of elegance. Thank you team and Victor.

This place makes me smile! Food has become corporate, big box and to find the little guy who cares is a real treat. We arrived when the restaurant opened, there was a line forming and Victor greeted us at the door. The restaurant has a flare of an old steak house as it was Martin's previously. The decor is nice and the environment super clean. The food and service was spectacular and the bread set the stage. You can tell if the epicurial experience will be good from the bread and wow it truly performed, We started with escargot, and pleasantly recieved many more than the traditional 6 dimple plate holds. It was delicious! Mom and I both ordered the sea bass, the fish was perfectly prepared and the potato croquette was my highlight. It is formed like a pear and tantalizes the palate. This place is well visited by regulars and we'll most definitely be back! Thanks for the love!
