Went in for a salad and came out to an $80.00 fine. 😒 Will not do any business in downtown Hamilton in the future. That's now the second time I got an $80.00 fine. I figured with an Accessible Parking and it being 9:30pm, Augusta Street would be okay for parking.

We ordered (for takeout) the fish & chips as well as the calamari. The fish was tender, fresh tasting, and flavourful. The chips were tasty too, my husband who isn’t usually a fan of British style chips devoured them. The coleslaw was flavourless, but we could let that go. What we couldn’t let go was the lemon pepper calamari. It was absolutely inedible. I have never had something more disgusting. They must have made a mistake in the kitchen, because it was incredibly sour as well as salty. I was very disappointed to pay almost $19 for something we could not have more than a bite of. As you can see from the photo, it is not a generous portion to begin with. There are only two rings missing from this picture and unlike the photos on their website, in person the calamari looked bright yellow.

Not only did they look down on us ( because we were not their usual upper middle class customers ), we could not order a second drink until I had walked up to the bar where 3 employees stood side by side and the bar tender , yet nether one of them offered their services until I had said "excuse me, may we order another drink?", I've never witnessed such poor customer services! And let's not forget the double shot of crown royal that tasted like water. My best friend who is isolated into a wheelchair and resides in a retirement home does not get to experience top quality food. I drove into Hamilton and together we came to your establishment for dinner, which was absolutely delicious! I assumed the tips are split amongst the staff so I did leave a proper tip for your fine chef. We couldn't get out of there fast enough!!

The Pheasant Plucker proves to be a traditional pub with decent pub fare and selection of beer, but it's likely a place for casual gathering as opposed to a place to celebrate a special occasion. Came here with my partner one Sunday in the late afternoon, which appeared to be a slow period for the restaurant. The decor looked somewhat tired and likely not a huge priority for management. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. She provided a number of recommendations when I asked about the menu, and let me sample some beer before ordering. The pub has Guinness on tap (which is something I think a pub needs to have). We were told that the majority of the menu is made in-house from scratch. I ordered the Phez Burger while my partner had the Sunday special Roast Beef Dinner. The Roast Beef Dinner was decent, but didn't stand out as exceptional. The Phez Burger was more impressive. The beef was cooked well (juicy) and the toppings had a good balance of the flavours. The Burger held together and did not fall apart. The fresh cut fries were quite exceptional and crispy - I ate every single fry. I would go back just for the fries 😂 I think I'd recommend the Pheasant Plucker if you're looking to hang out with friends for beers and decent grub, but it might not be the place you'd go for the ultimate culinary experience.

Our favourite pub in Hamilton! Excellent food and the people that work there are awesome! Burger night on Tuesday, Wing night on Wednesday and $13 lunch meals Monday to Friday! The best service and a perfectly poured Guinness! And the Tennents Lager is ice cold!

This place is a great a find! Food is great, we ordered nacho’s and the chicken wings, service was okay, they were very friendly and comes checks up on you but they forgot to bring our fries and the drink we ordered which is why we just didnt bother asking for them again as we asked twice but overall really great place!

This pub has a cozy atmosphere because it's set in a house, staff is very nice, food is fresh, delicious and served hot. It has a bar counter for drinks and tv to watch sports. There are many benches for comfortable seats. However, because it's in downtown Hamilton, that means paid parking happen most of the time, so I recommend to go on Sunday for free parking or to go without driving.

Great Irish pub. Lots of space to mingle and room to move around. Not glogged up with endless tables. Not much of wine selection but quite a few beers on tap and scotches on the shelf. Friendly. I think I'll try the food next time...
