The Little Grasshopper Cafe opened in 2015. The Cafe takes its name from the village in Portugal in which the owner is from, Gafanha meaning "Little Grasshopper". Our menu varies from traditional Portuguese dishes like Polvo and Fried Codfish to Canadian favorites like Chicken Tenders and house made Angus Burgers. The Little Grasshopper Cafe also has vegan options like our Vegan Mac n Cheese, Vegan poutine and much more. We serve all day breakfast for those late risers! And offer take out for homebodies! All of our food is made to order from scratch! So come down to the Little Grasshopper Cafe we have something for everyone!

Great food, great service and great music. I love every single one of their daily soups, and the sandwiches are delicious and affordable. I have lunch here multiple times a month and they never disappoint.

This is my favourite lunch spot in Hamilton! The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff is very kind and accommodating. I am a huge fan of their rotating soup menu, and their sandwiches. My personal favourite is the beef and veggie soup with a chicken Parmesan sandwich. It’s like nothing I’ve had before (the bread is light and fluffy, but it does not get soggy from the sauce, and the chicken is perfectly cooked and battered). I bring all of my out of town guests here, and every one of them has been impressed by the cheap and delicious food.i could not recommend this restaurant enough.

We had some amazing experiences with this lovely restaurant and people who work there today. We tried their special pumpkin soup on Thanksgiving day, which was the best I have ever had. The coffee was super good, so was the meal, with very generous portions. It was only until we went back to Toronto, I realized that I left my bag there. When we called back, they were actually still waiting for us. Eventually, we drove back to Hamilton and got my bag.🙏 Thanks Little Grasshopper! For great food, amazing coffee, and kind people. ❤️

Been wanting to try this place for years! Finally made it and was not disappointed!! Excellent breakfast, reasonably priced, spotlessly clean, friendly and efficient service. Hope to try more menu items in the near future.

First visit overall really enjoyed the food large portion for the price. Had the Grasshopper Bowl which had quinoa, mixed greens, corn, beans, sweet potato, avocado, and cucumber with balsamic reduction. To drink was iced coffee. Really fresh and tasty.

A hidden gem! I have been coming here for years and the food never disappoints! Recently had the cod fish dish and it was amazing. Great espressos. Very affordable pricing. Family atmosphere and amazing costumer service. Highly recommend! Will be coming back!

Ordered for the first time and was not disappointed. The Parm and Steak sandwich was amazing, calamari was on point with authentic sauces. Now that I know how good the food was I’m sorry I didn’t order tarts as well. Will 100% order again… and soon.
