The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Richmond Hill

A First-Class Steak House I had an enjoyable lunch here on a bustling weekday. Despite the large lunchtime crowd, I was promptly seated in the lounge area. While the lounge doesn’t have the same cozy, upscale vibe as the main dining room, it’s a good spot for a relaxed, casual meal. The decor is modern and elegant, with a stylish urban feel. I went with the Keg Classic meal, which includes a starter salad and a side. I chose the Caesar salad, which was light, fresh, and flavorful. A warm mini loaf of fresh bread with whipped butter came alongside—nice touch. They don’t skimp here. (Note the picture I included of the bread is missing the quarter I ate!) I ordered the 10 oz filet mignon (sans bacon) for my main course, paired with fries, mushrooms, and grilled vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious—the steak was cooked perfectly to medium and seasoned just right, and the entire meal arrived piping hot and fresh. What a treat. Though I was too full to indulge in dessert, I ended the meal with a cup of coffee. The service was excellent throughout—efficient, friendly, and attentive. My waitress was terrific, and I wish I had known her name to give her a proper shout-out (I was at table 108 on Dec 18 at 12:30 p.m., in case the restaurant wants to pass along my thanks.) With the current tax holiday, my total came to $95 with tip—not cheap, but worth it for such a first-class meal. I’ll definitely be back!

Best steak I've ever had in Canada. Excellent staff and lively ambience. Strongly recommend sirloin Oscar. Definitely coming back.

I recently dined at The Keg Steakhouse, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was cooked to perfection, and every bite was a delight. What really stood out was the exceptional service. Im really thankful to the manager here. And im also very sorry for the issue. I encountered a minor issue during my visit, but the manager addressed it immediately with professionalism and efficiency. The staff’s attitude throughout was top-notch—they were attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about ensuring I had the best dining experience possible. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and prompt problem-solving truly made my visit memorable. I will definitely be recommending The Keg to friends and family and look forward to returning soon!

We were craving a good steak and the Keg met most of our needs :) The fresh bread and garlic butter spread were delicious. The bread was freshly baked, soft and went well with the smooth garlic butter :) The calamari was good. It was crispy on the outside, as well as being tender and moist on the inside. Would definitely recommend. The rib steak (12 oz) with garlic mashed potato was awesome!!! We got the rib steak medium rare and it came out perfectly. The rib steak was tender, juicy and nicely seasoned. The garlic mashed potato was creamy and delicious. Would definitely recommend the rib steak :) The top sirloin (8 oz) with twice baked potato was okay. A bit of a disappointment for us. We ordered the top sirloin medium rare and it came out as medium rare. However, we found this top sirloin to be on the tougher side. It wasn’t juicy and tender that we remembered from having a medium rare top sirloin in the past. Also, the twice baked potato was okay only. The Billy Miner Pie was awesome. A great ice cream pie :)

Top sirloin, Prime rib and New York strip lion three very different steak done very nice but one of them slight over done so took of a star but the service was exceptional. We were seated too close to the kitchen entrance so foot traffic were busy even on a Sunday evening.

I am deeply disappointed and frankly outraged by the experience I had at this restaurant for my birthday. What was supposed to be a celebratory evening turned into an absolute disaster, and the level of service we received was completely unacceptable, especially given the prices we paid. It all started with the Caesar salad, which was an absolute insult to serve. The lettuce was wilted, black, and clearly days old. It was inedible, and when we requested a replacement, we were brought another salad that was just as bad. The fact that this restaurant thinks it’s acceptable to serve such low-quality food is beyond comprehension. The service was equally atrocious. I ordered a soft drink, and it arrived without a straw. I had to wait 30 minutes for the waiter to bring one, by which time the ice had melted and the drink was ruined. This kind of neglect is unacceptable in any setting, let alone one that charges premium prices. The main course was where things went from bad to worse. We ordered steak with lobster, expecting them to be served together, as any competent restaurant would do. Instead, the steak arrived first, and the lobster came 15 minutes later. By then, the steak was cold and unappetizing. This is completely inexcusable, especially for the price we were paying. The final insult came with dessert. After serving it, the waiter vanished, leaving us stranded. I had to physically get up and search the restaurant just to find someone so we could pay and leave. This level of disregard for customers is appalling. For a restaurant that charges what you do, this experience was a complete rip-off. I expected a high standard of service and food quality, and what I received was far from it. This birthday dinner was ruined, and I deeply regret ever choosing this place. Rest assured, I will be sharing this experience with others to warn them of the poor service and unacceptable standards here.

We started off with complimentary warm and fluffy bread that came with a delicious butter spread. Our first order, the 10 oz Prime Rib, was perfectly cooked to medium rare, making it juicy. The horseradish and red wine herb jus it came with added more flavor to the rib. A funny story is I thought the horseradish was mashed potatoes before I took a bite. Our other order, the 12 oz Top Sirloin, was supposed to be medium rare, but it came out medium. This meant it was a little chewier, but it was still fairly tender. The sides that came with our dishes, the Keg Caesar Salad, Twice Baked Potato, and Mushroom Rice, were all good too, no complaints. The service was a bit slow. Our waitress wasn't very attentive at refilling our water, and she didn’t bring our bill until a while after we had finished our food.
