We had a lovely dinner at The Joneses on NYE. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent and the ambience was just perfect. The Big M beef tartare and warm cheese bread lived up to all of the hype on social media. They were delicious! There is ample parking in the same building the restaurant is in, which is a plus when dining in downtown Toronto. Our waiter, Luke, was absolutely amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the menu and drink items, made good recommendations to us based on our preferences and took some pictures of us to remember a great night. You could tell he really cared about creating a superb dining experience for the guests. The restaurant ambience is very nice and we had a great night! We are also looking at having my husband's 40th birthday at the Joneses in April due to our lovely experience on NYE. We highly recommend The Joneses!

We had dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday before a show. Service was friendly and well paced. Food was all good, nothing over the top amazing but good. I like the atmosphere and seating. At 6pm on a Friday it was not busy. Started to pick up when we left at 7.30.

Save your coin! The only good thing was the cheese fondue and the restaurant itself is very cozy and with cute interiors. Our server was in a rush and extremely curt she didn’t smile once. I went here with my friends to celebrate my early birthday the service and way we all were treated ruined our night. We were rushed to order, she recommended the chicken dish which is apparently the best, the meat was dry and chewy. My friend who ordered sushi took one bite and said it tasted odd we checked and something just didn’t taste okay the fish (salmon) seemed stale. When we informed our server she took the dish back and then we asked if she would recommend something instead she just expressed she will hand us a menu, my friend was dejected by her attitude. The only good thing in the mains was the poke bowl. Extremely disappointing service, I was so excited to go here, but sadly my customer service experience was a 0/10

Just visited this American classic gem at the corner of Yonge & Wellington. The cozy interior is impressive, but the food and service truly stole the show. We kicked things off with their warm cheese bread—SO GOOD! The cheese melts in your mouth, and the bread is baked to perfection. Seriously, the best cheese bread I’ve ever had. We also shared the tempura shrimp, which came with plenty of shrimp pieces. For drinks, we stuck with the classic Aperol spritz—always a safe bet. For mains, we had the fish & chips with Caesar salad, the super deluxe mac & cheese, and a Canadian flat iron steak. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. A special shoutout to the chef—an amazing person who really works magic in the kitchen! Highly recommend this place for good food and good times!

Solid place for lunch or dinner! Second round here already! FOOD All American food with a nice balance of flavours and textures. This time around, tuna tatami, beef scewers, and some brownie. All of the food was good, but not super memorable. It’s one of those places where you will enjoy food, but will not crave any particular dish, or will remember it. SERVICE The service was very attentive and well done. We always had drinks refilled and didn’t have to wait for a thing. ATMO It’s a very beautiful restaurant and we will surely come back. Being on the patio in the summer and enjoying drinks and live DJ, what else can you ask for?!

We tried out The Joneses for the first time during Summerlicious. Their food still has some room to improve but overall we had a great time. Our waiter was especially friendly too which we enjoyed. I was looking forward to the corn soup but for some reason I found it fell a little flat. I think a bit more corn or roasted flavour would have helped. The tuna tataki was a huge letdown and in hindsight, should have been returned. The tuna came cooked all the way through with totally white flesh, as if it was dropped in some boiling water and then plated. For our mains, we got the beef tenderloin skewers and barbecue brick chicken. The beef tenderloin was quite good. The flavour of the brick chicken was excellent but the chicken itself was very dry. I'd expect the white and dark meat to both be tender and juicy at this type of restaurant. We ended on a positive note with the peach panna cotta and brownies both executed well.

We had a fantastic experience at The Joneses. We walked over after seeing Wicked with family friends and it was well worth the easy walk! The 5:00pm reservation was perfect timing. Portions are very reasonable and we left feeling completely satisfied and impressed with the quality and flavour of every dish. One friend was absolutely in love with the aesthetic! The vibe was right, the staff was professional, and we will definitely be back one day.

I was very happy with the experience. Food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. Menu gives off a more casual vibe with items like pizza and mac n cheese. However, these items are done very well. The drinks are great - try their lychee martini for a treat. The mac n cheese was excellent. I’ve had a lot of mac n cheeses, they managed to make this quite unique with super sharp cheeses, a smoky vibe which I couldn’t identity from the menu, and lots of cheese curds that gave amazing cheese pulls and texture without being too gooey. The pasta shape was nice fat shells that made it fun to eat. Portion was just right, great for a main but not too huge. Overall very happy with this dish and would try it again. The carrot cake dessert was also excellent, one of the best carrot cakes I’ve had. Super moist, sweet but not too sweet, perfect cream cheese icing and lots of it. Again perfect size, just right to share for two. I would definitely come back to try the Detroit pizzas, the sushi, and some of the other menu items. The service was excellent - he was friendly, professional, and attentive without being too in our faces. I also liked the formal vibe - waiter was wearing a vest and looked/acted like he’d walked out of a 19th century movie set! Butler vibes 😂 Finally, ambiance is cool. It’s a modern, dressy place that feels nice enough for date night, despite the more casual type of food items. And the food items themselves are dressed up and made more interesting. Overall, 10/10 would recommend. The only thing I will note is the price of the tofu steak was absolutely ridiculous. Tofu costs $2 per packet and they were pricing it as if it was a real steak… I believe around $30+ not including sides (ie. Just a slab of tofu and a sauce). Nothing can convince me a single piece of tofu is worth that, this is the type of pricing I would expect at a Michelin star restaurant. Update: came back and the food was excellent again. I did try the tofu steak with peppercorn sauce and while it’s definitely overpriced, it was excellent. Very well done in terms of taste and texture, and it’s really hard to get tofu right! It was chewy, dense, and so flavorful. Peppercorn sauce was delightful too and not spicy. The shiitake sushi was good but personally was missing the soy sauce and pickled ginger to add to it, I guess those are the flavors I associate with sushi. The cheese Detroit pizza was the only miss I’ve tasted at this restaurant. The crust was too thin for a Detroit style, and it had this watery, tasteless ricotta on top that kind of ruined it for me. Broccoli side was excellent, they packed a lot of flavor into a simple veg. And the Mac and cheese is probably my favorite Mac in Toronto… and it’s my favorite food! So creamy, nice cheese curds, and perfectly al dente pasta. Super flavorful too. Mac and cheese is so often overcooked and bland, they have a winner here! Finally, the mocktails are good. Overall this restaurant is totally underrated and I’m surprised it doesn’t get talked about more or have a higher rating!
