The Great Canadian Bagel

$8.46 CAD for a spinach and egg bagel is absurd. Also, the egg isn’t even freshly cooked. It’s already prepackaged in a container and simply microwaved. The tomato and lettuce aren’t that fresh either and are just thrown onto the bagel without much care. Charging extra for American cheese when its nutritional value isn’t even that healthy is also crazy. The cheese just tastes similar to that of McDonald’s. The owner stated that everything is fresh in response to someone else’s review when literally almost everything is prepackaged and I see it with my own eyes as the employees assemble the food in front of customers, so you cannot deny this. The employees also seem to be confused with the orders and rush the payment process. The atmosphere is also very dark and gloomy. The tables are also very dirty and have crumbs everywhere that I had to leave and find some place else on campus that was more clean, even though I had wanted to sit at the tables.

I tried their sausage and egg on the tomazzo bagel! Loved it, going today too! Also, I love how the staff is attentive and friendly to our order 🫶🏻

This is definitely the best place at York to get breakfast and lunch. The prices are student-friendly and the bagels are really good (especially the Hot Tomazzo bagel). Everyone who works here is so kind and friendly too!

I'm an executive on a student association at York and we used the Canadian Bagel as caterers for an Alumni event (bagel sandwich platters). Gino was INCREDIBLY helpful- everything from helping us with a very reasonable price to responding quickly to emails to providing extra plates and cutlery. Would definitely recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the bagels from The Great Canadian Bagel York Lanes and I must say they were absolutely delicious! The freshness and quality of the bagels were outstanding. They have a great variety of flavors, looking forward to trying others and the overall experience was fantastic.
