The Fox: A Firkin Pub

Usually I'm ok with the Firkin Pub chain, but this location let me down in a big way. I ordered the fish and chips, my friend ordered the Ruben sandwich. My friend said his sandwich tasted funny, and my fries were obviously old and re-fried, clumped together and stale. The fish was so dry I could pick it up and use it as a club (as a joke I attempted this, and was surprised the filet could take such a beating). I sent the fish and chips back, asking for a burger with a Caesar salad. The salad was good, the burger was unsurprisingly terrible. It was basically a hockey puck on a bun. This kind of pub food is so easy to make, it's amazing that this chain restaurant would serve such bad food.

For those who enjoy good food and good beers with sports, The Fox is a great place to go alone or with others. The menu has good options of snacks, dishes, appetizers and desserts. The beer and other drinks list is very varied and always has good options. The pub is small, with a large room but not accessible: the passage between one table and another is good for pedestrians but for those using walkers, crutches and wheelchairs it is impossible! The toilets are on the lower floor, and access is via stairs, which is impossible for a person with a physical disability. The service at the house is good, but the afternoon attendant is usually alone, full of activities and with many tables to serve. So be respectful and polite when making your requests. The food is always tasty and very well served

You either leave a tip or they'll make you feel uncomfortable. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We chose a VIP platter, which was satisfactory but not exceptional. After settling the bill and as we were preparing to leave, a server approached us to inquire if we had any concerns about the service. When we confirmed that there was no dissatisfaction, she informed us that the standard tip is 18% and urged us to consider tipping during our next visit to the restaurant. The body language was not good. While I understand that Canada has a tradition of generous tipping, it's important for service workers to avoid pressuring customers in this regard and instead appreciate gratuities when offered. Canada is home to people from diverse cultural and financial backgrounds, and not everyone may adhere to the tipping culture or have the means to tip on every occasion. I hope the pub's management ensures that servers do not make customers feel uncomfortable when tips are not provided.

This pub has a great atmosphere and really good food! It's a great spot to come to with friends and hang out. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (the outdoor patio is in the back, and it has nice bulb lights and plants n all that). We got Gouda Mac n Cheese which was bless, perogies (also bless), meat pie and Cesar salad (my friend said "it's really good" 👍🏼). The staff are also super friendly and don't give you "rushing" vibes which makes for a great time.

have a friend who lives near there--perfect for a boys night out for some beers n food :) had the veggie nachos---friends had beef nachos, firkin burger with fries and sweet potato fries all of the food was fresh and delicious!!!! definitely going back there when im down again!

Good atmosphere, fine food, but poor service. It was our first time there, and we got Cobb Salad and chicken sandwich. The Cobb Salad was amazing, and it came w “everything bagel dressing”, which is so tasty! The portions were big and the price was decent. The chicken sandwich was good but it could be better with the sauce. It was super dry when eating it. Also, the fries was okay, it would be awesome if there’s some seasoning in it. Service was super poor. It's pretty empty there, but the servers hardly cared about the clients. They barely checked our table, but just chatted with their colleagues and even checked their phones frequently. They acted cold when we asked about the food also. I love their atmosphere pretty much, but I’m not sure if I will go back just cuz the poor service. (Btw there’s some fruit flies around us when we were eating, which was gross :(

Went for lunch to this amazing neighbourhood bar for fish and chips and drinks, this place is always a go to for quick drinks, the server was amazing, super friendly and great service. Their buffalo cauliflower bites along with fish and chips are a must try! Even with drinks margaritas and mojitos never disappoint. Quick service, more importantly they are open for longer hours which is always good!

The staff here are awesome! I been here multiple time and keep forgetting to write a review. Everytime I come here I feel honored as a guest! The food here are delicious and the prices for the drink are quite reasonable! Both the staff and bartender Caleb and Ryan are amazing! Keep it up! Always be coming back here!
